I do hope that your sister is getting therapy. Even if she doesn't say it, she is going to have to deal with the guilt that she lived and her friend is dead. It doesn't matter that it wasn't her fault. The last thing she needs is that piece of crap coming around. I think that as long as she thinks your sister will be getting some money later, she won't hurt her. She might do things to her when she can't get the money for her drugs. She'll steal her meds first and little things to pawn....remember, the future money is her goal so she won't want to get caught too soon. Make sure your sister doesn't sign any papers either...insurance, power of attorney, car, bank account info...It always surprises me how intelligent these users are. If they applied as much effort to working as they do stealing, they would be rich. I've seen them do things that I wouldn't have even thought of! Steal keys, make key impressions, steal passwords to email accounts, phone records, SS#...identity thief...it's not always money. If she gets inside, she can find your sister's files and steal enough info to steal her identity, open accounts up and it will be months before your sister even finds out! I have seen it first hand....

Hay Girlfriend! It's almost the New Year...I'm doing fine. The leg is healed, it's just that I have to get over the fear of breaking it again. It never dawned on me that I would break my leg from doing nothing. Skydiving yes, and mountain climbing, but walking on the sidewalk...no. Now I am watching every step I take. I'm back on Synthroid and Cytomel and I am feeling a whole lot better. My endo said that the Armour Thyroid is not as good as the old one and wasn't working for me. I forgot about your diverticulitis...you are not suppose to eat popcorn. You need to stop. Trust me on this. I ate popcorn every night because I did not know. I ended up in the hospital with pus in my abdomen. The infection was in my back so bad that I could barely stand. I almost died...really. I spent 7 days in the hospital only to end up back in after one day out...and spent another week. I was pumped full of antibiotics. It took me months to recover. And of course, all those meds made problems for other areas. Because of your thyroid, your bowels are slow and things can get stuck in the pockets more so for you than others. I would suggest staying away from all seeds...raspberry, strawberry, poppy, rye, sesame...I can eat walnuts now, because my body is doing better.Trust me, it is not worth dying over. If I get another infection, I will end up with a bag...and lord knows I don't want that. The butter you put on your popcorn is probably saving your life! HaHa...who knew! emoticon emoticon

OMG! Your sister, who was just in a major car accident, thinks she is driving?...Oh Hades No! I am glad that you told her you would go home. She shouldn't be driving...my doctor said to me when I wanted to drive. He said, think. Imagine someone you love jumps in front of the car, you have to break hard to stop. Crack goes your leg and you just ran over your loved one. Besides that, there could be other things that haven't shown up yet. She can get as mad as she wants, but it would be totally selfish of her to risk your life and your mom's. I love the way she insists on smoking. My ex had to drive me around after I broke my leg, and he would insists on smoking. I use to tell him he couldn't, but I got tired of sitting in the car while he stopped and got out to smoke. It was ridicules. I was so embarrassed when the doctor would ask me if I smoked and I would answer no...but I am sure I smelled like smoke from him. I tried to get him to quit, but now I just ask him if I am still the sole benefactor of his 401K..I thank him every time he lights one up. I tell him it gets me closer to collecting his money. I told him the other day that he was being cremated from the inside out. Good, save me money when it comes time to bury his butt. He gets so mad at me, but he laughs. God help me, I do have a smart mouth. But the worse thing is, he looks good. He works out and is thin. He lives on pizza, beer and spaghetti. He'll eat cookies, brownies, and cake. He chain smokes. I eat spinach, I don't smoke, drink, or have any fun what so ever...and I'm the one who is fat! Go figure. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I think that you made the right choice in taking your Mom out of there. I am sure that it is a policy of the facility that says she can't leave. Rules change all the time. I've worked at some that were wonderful, and I walked out of other one that reminded me of the snake pit. I would think that it would be in the best interest of your mom to keep her healthy and happy. She should not be made to be a prisoner. I would think having contact with family would be considered a good thing. Maybe now she will accept the circumstances of the situation and find a way to live with you. She can't stay by herself. That is not good for anyone. She can either adapt or go to prison...I mean the nursing home. Focus on ways to keep her safe from falls..that would be my number one concern for her at this point. I know that it will be hard on you to have her living with you, but it's been hard on you either way. Your sister is in no position to help...she hasn't even gone through her grieving period yet. And she has a broken leg on top of that. Your other sister can't hang around. At least that looks like the situation for now. You sound like me ....things could be worse....I say that at least once a day. I'm just worried that one of these days they will be worse and I won't be able to say that! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
