Hi everyone! I'm Laura!

I first started on Sparkpeople a year ago and lost 16 lbs. I credit all of you AWESOME people for the support and help you gave me to help me lose the weight I've been struggling to get rid of for years.

Sadly, because of grad school, I haven't been able to keep up with the Sparkpeople community or maintain the healthy habits I've established last year. But now I am BACK with a vengeance!

I made the decision to change my lifestyle not only because I wanted to lose weight, but also because I wanted to live longer and healthier. I hardly ever eat out. My husband and I like to make everything from scratch, not only because it's healthier, but because it just tastes much better when you know where you get your food.

I work out 4-5 times a week doing cardio, but would like to use other kinds of exercises to spice things up.

Let's be friends and motivate each other!

My Goals:
I want to be able to safely (and permanently!!!) lose 50 lbs by next year, but with sedentary nature of my job and lack of motivation and encouragement, it's been a large hurdle for me to get through.


My Program:
DIET:
*I make my own food and cook about 4 times a week. I also pack my lunches.
*I like to snack, so I try to eat 6 smaller meals a day so I'm not hungry all the time.
*I don't drink soda or juice, but I have to have coffee or tea.
* I eat between 1200-1500 calories a day.

WORKOUT:
*Cardio 4 times a week for 30 minutes each time. I go to the gym early in the morning and hop onto the elliptical or the AMT.
*I just bought a yoga mat and want to learn simple yoga moves.
*I am obsessed with the shakeweight. I try to do 5 minutes of it while watching TV.
