I never had problems with weight until after my second son was born; since then it has been a struggle for me. I went from eating whatever I wanted and never gaining weight to if I looked at food I would gain weight (well it felt that way).

I was always very athletic and on the go. I dealt with depression and extreme anxiety and shut down. When thoughts of suicide started presenting more and more, I knew I had to make changes, I did not want to die and i definitely did not want my children to grow up feeling they were not enough to live for; these were my feelings as a child when my mother took her life at age 35. My older sister took her own life 18 years later at age 34; I felt like I died with her (we were really close).

In 2000, I left my husband so that I could learn about who I was and how to take back control of my life; I was not going to let depression rule my life and I certainly was not going to take my own life.

So here I am 11 years later, I now have three degrees (AA, BA and MA) all in mental health. I now work as a therapist with high risk children and adults teaching them how to take back their lives and live a mentally healthier life.

I feel like I know who I am now and achieving goals. The past several years I have been on all kinds of diets, pills, fads, gyms, trainers, etc. I've built a lot of muscles (I think my body remembered) but I still struggle with the fat the covers my beautiful muscles. Each time I get frustrated I remind myself.... "Okay, this isn't working, switch it up!" Something is going to work. I have started resistant training and I am starting to see my body reshaping... who ever would have thought! I'm pleased and try to just do the workouts, have healthier choices in food selections and not focus so much on the scale.... the numbers freak me out.

So here's to my continued journey.

My Goals:
My goal is to feel good in my own skin again. I was always athletic and very active until I had children; I only began gaining weight after my second child. I've struggling since then. I would like to get back down to 120-130 lbs. I'm short (5'1") but athletically built.


My Program:
I circut train and recently began resistants training; I'm starting see some changes now since the resistants training started.
