Hi everyone, thanks for visiting!

My name is Tina, I am 35 and I am 5'3". I started this journey at 174. My reasons for this life change are many. First, to set a good example for my girls. Second, I was told I needed to get my back fused as I am walking around with 2 herniated discs. Third, and probably most important, I love myself - I'm a fun person. I love myself fat, and I loved myslef when I was thin...being heavy never made me like myself any less, but I sure felt like I had more energy, and it was sure easier to find clothes. Forth, I love a challenge - when I put my mind to something, look out, there is no stopping me.

I am the mother of two beautiful girls and a wife to a wonderful husband and father. All three love me for who I am inside. Last May I finally graduated with a degree in social work and I achieved advanced standing staus in graduate school - so I should have my Masters in less than a year.

I was always very fit growing up. In my early 20's I actually worked in a gym, but I think I had a complex because of my height so I used to pump iron to build bulk instead of looking like a dancer with long lean muscles. I was alw1ys a 135, which seems heavy for my height, but I was all muscle - literally - oh and I'm very top heavy (unfortunately). Once I met Mr. Right at 28, I started eating very wrong. When I became pregnant - it was tough, I was on bed rest for 4 months the first time (with alot of Halloween candy), I have kidney disease, so I delivered at 210!! When I was pregnant with my second daughter, I really tried to watch what I consumed and only gained 8 pounds (I was completely healthy - dr. says so ;) ), but because of my kidneys, I was on bedrest for 5 months.

Anyway, three years later, I was still at 174 - not gaining, but not losing. My problem was not eating. I only ate one meal a day. So even now I feel like I have to force myself to eat.

I'm very dedicated to my goal. I happened by this sight by sheer accident and so far I love it. I can't wait to make some buddies and hopefully one day inspire others. Thank you for letting me share - and good luck to us all!

My Goals:
Well, my goal is to get down to 135 - I guess it's just an arbitrary number - but I remember going to clubs in the 80's with my big hair fitting into my unitard and size 6 jeans - I was 135 lol (I can't believe I just typed that)

My Program:
Weight train every other day - I love lifting, this is not a problem for me.

Cardio every day - because I have two herniated discs I can't jog, but I walk on my treadmill at a pretty good clip - definately an aerobic heartrate - I even get the "runners high" when my feet just go and my mind just dissociates.

Personal Information:
I'm from CT - I guess I already typed everything over on the left.

Other Information:
I love John Lennon and the Beatles. Love true crime novels. Very interested in the human psyche as I am working towards my clinical license.
