My physical body is a representation of who I was. I was depressed for a long time, my seclusion led to weight gain, then weight gain led to greater seclusion, and the spiral continued. I've tried to "correct" myself several time. I'll maintain focus and discipline for a while, then a setback would occur and I'd give up, and so the spiral continued.

I've had some success in other areas of my life: fed my intellectual passion through scholarship earning two degrees on the way, learned how to occasionally lower my introvert shield and made new friends, and a foundation of self-esteem. I feel I'm finally ready to be successful.

I draw most of my strength from the epic. The heroes of epic always have to face seemingly impossible obstacles, often with no clear path. I've strayed too long on Ogygia and allowed the She-Wolf to chew my flesh. It's time for me to make my escape and for now my most trusted guide will be Dante, but I also seek council with Homer, Virgil, Ruzhong, Aristo, Tasso, Ferdowsi, Milton, and many others.
