Hi My name is Kel a Brit and I am 30. My start weight (and the heavyest i have ever been) 165 kg = 370 lbs = 26 stone 6lbs. my bmi was well over 50

I started with spark people early feb2012 & I can say one of the best choices I have ever made in my life.
I have over 220lbs to lose and the battle is to be a long one I know but I am more and more determined by the day.

My back story...
I write that and I can hardly believe I have allowed my weight to get so high. I have been over weight all of my life. I was picked on for being fat from me first day of school at the age of 4, that was when i realized i was different to everyone else. I went on my first diet at 7 years old and it was my own choice it didnt last long even though i lost weight. I think i mainly failed because the family did not change with me and they didnt want me to be hungry.

I tried many times as a teenager but hardly lost any weight at all. When i turned 15 in 1999, i decided to take matters into my own hands, i cooked and prepared my own healthier meals. in around 6 months I lost 5 stones and was for the first time in my life popular with both girls and boys. I was a size 12 and felt so proud of myself.

Sadly I really didnt have any clue how to keep the weight off once i got there, I thought i had to just diet and lose it if i put it on. i had no idea about maintaining my weight. as a result i put the weight all back on again.
by 2002 I was 17 stone, by 2003 I was 23 stone. at that point i decided to make a change We wanted to try for a family and I dropped 6 stone.

I went on an airoplane for the first time in my life at 17 stone I just fitted the belt around me. I kept that weight off and struggled with yo yo diet trying to lose more. i was around 18-19 stone when i fell pregnant (after a long time trying). I went and asked for help and wanted least maintain the body mass I had but couldn't get help anywhere, I ended up with pregnancy complications and was forced to stop work early and was laid up for months. this got my weight up to 164kg by the end of my pregnancy.

I have fought and fought to diet and lose the weight for that past 4 years and here we are today... making it happen. I know I can do it with a lot of hard work. I have around 16 stones to lose.

I have spent half my adult life on diets the other half hiding from me own reflection. I come from a line of obese people, my parents etc have all been 15-25 stones. I swore to myself that i would not have to same happen to my children. although i have spent half my life giving in to this food addiction I have stuck to this for pledge for my daughter. she is a healthy weight and an active child. I want to change before she sees me like the rest of the world do.

I wanted to change so I do not end up heart problems and diabetes like my poor dad who i lost as a teenager. I have seen That I was following in his foot steps each day I found it terrifying and haunting.

I want to change so i have more energy. I felt ill all the time and i know a lot of it was my own fault. as my lbs fall away my energy increases.

I want to *keep to my* change so people start to see the me I used to be & I can again back their respect

I want to *keep to my* change so I can respect myself,

I want to *keep to my* change so my husband can have his princess back.

I want to *keep to my* change so I can look nice in the clothes I wear,

I have a lazy thyroid and I am having to learn how it needs me to live a better way so i can shift the weight. Id love to make new friends that have a sim weight goal xx

My Goals:
My goals are to get down to around 150lbs

I want to lose it in the healthiest best non fad way so I can keep it off and maintain my success.

Progress - after 6 months (5 with spark)
I have lost 100lbs (july 2012)

- 8months on (sept 2012) 120lbs+ gone - 100lbs to go

My Program:
learning to eat the right amounts and studying the different nutrition's. as i get lighter i intend to do more and more exercise.

i am drinking as much water as possible - always over 8 cups.
I am learning to space my food out better and not just eat most of my daily allowance in one meal.

I get my exercise anywhere I can get it and try to be better at what I do with each day i do it
