Hi there, my name is Joyce. I am currently trying to use all other resources to help me become well without the use of medication of which I'm on heaps. I am mostly concerned about my high cholesterol and as I can't use any of the drugs available as they hurt me and cause me to sleep for days. My aim is to bring my cholesterol down by stopping smoking, having bean and lentils 4 times a week, as well as using Proactiv margarine and being creative in how I use it. I'm eager to have someone go through my journey with me and would value a friend to online to do this. I look forward to your correspondence.

My Goals:
To become well within myself. Working on reducing my weight, cholesterole and maintaining good blood pressure. The major goal is to get to my 'Civil Union' with good weight loss so I can fit my dress and have an awesome day.

My Program:
I am monitoring what I eat, especially keeping track of my meal portions, doing daily exercieses which now include looking after my mandible and doing physiotherapy. I am hooked into many of the teams on the site which include; Cholesterole, Blood pressure, Weight, Bride & Groom teams and now my team which is the 'Civil Union Team', of which I felt was better than the typical marriage of contemporary couples.

Personal Information:
I am from New Zealand. A Maori wahine/woman aged 52 years. I am in a onderful relationship with my intended woman. I have 2 daughters and 6 grandchildren/mokopuna. My partner has a son and 5 grandchildren. Together we have 11 grandchildren and 3 children. I love reading, writing poetry and journaling. I love using the journal on this site and attempt to do it daily or as much as I can.

Other Information:
I have been an avid reader over the years, and have read just about everything. My favorite tv programms are Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Shortland Street. I love Sci-fi movies. An avid animla lover especially of cats which can be viewed on this page.

    To both give and receive support, I suggest joining and participating in at least one Spark TEAM. When you signed up, SP offered you a "Spark Class" which is a team for the newbies who signed up the week you did.

    Stress is usually to blame for us picking up a cigarette to cope. Try to identify something ELSE you can "go to" for that relief. Start and carry a crochet project, or play a game on your phone, or carry a bottle of nail polish to paint one finger at a time. Something that keeps your hands and mind occupied. This does help.

    I just stopped on your page to say "HI" and welcome you to Spark, and thank you for your friend add. You're in the right place to reach your goals, but promise that you'll stop in every day and log your water, log your veggies and fruit, log your food, log your exercise, and read, and post, and log your water, and write on someone’s page, and read some more, and blog, and log your water, and LEARN that you are not alone, and we're all right here with you! Did I mention that you should log your water?
    WHEW! Ok, I know you're overwhelmed getting to know this site, but use those buttons up there, especially the MY TRACKERS drop down list, and then either the START or MY SPARKPOINTS. Both of these helped me learn about the site, gain momentum and meet new friends.
