Easter Monday 2009
I thought it was about time to update this introduction. Tired and emotional? Yes, I still get that, it's part of the condition but somehow, since joining spark people in January, I've managed to lose 17 kilos - about 37 pounds in American speak - by sticking to a particular eating programme and making a conscious effort with exercise and recording most of it.
It's been relatively easy once accepted that some things just don't agree with keeping me healthy. Not so easy if I look around at other people eating Easter eggs or drinking alcohol - so trying not to do that too much, just concentrate on what works for me. In some ways I'm truly delighted to have found something that works!
The weight reached now is where I was about three years ago after an intensive protein shake diet which had left me thinking that slimming was hard work. I have not been below this weight for 15 yhears. So, the question is: will this programme continue working to get me below this threshold? For the answer to this gripping puzzle, let's keep doing it for a few more weeks and see how it goes! exciting, isn't it?
In the meantime I'll try to upload a picture that shows I do smile, sometimes!

hey, thanks for the goodie, I am sure there is an onion in there somewhere. I got a lot of gardening done today before the rain hit, then I spent the rest of the day cleaning "The Aviary." These budgies sure are messy!

I actually read one recipe which recommended drying the morels and then soaking them because it concentrated the flavor. I would be surprised if you don't have morels with your climate. The word Chicago means something like "Smelly onion" in Native American language but I don't know if there still are onions here

Hey thanks for stopping by my page and commenting on my big shroom. That is probably the biggest morel I have found (hubby is holding it) but I have seen bigger. I had to look up ceps and St. Georges and I have never found those here (NW IL) but they look just like something we used to gather when I was a kid in Sweden. We have found chanterelles here which are my faves!
