I've always been a list maker, with poor follow through.

I'd have something I'd want to do or see, and I'd be excited and write it down thinking tomorrow I'd do it.

Or next week.

Or next year.

Or when I'm better organized or prepared. I couldn't start it today, because I have things I needed to get prepared first. Then the next day I'd be in that same place, and so that goal or hope, or idea, would settle into the notebook never to be realized.

Because I'm a procrastinator.

It is my worst trait, my biggest obstacle. And using rewards, didn't help.

I went on medication, for ADD. Since I must be that, I can't complete anything I start! Maybe I was depressed like they said, so I took pills for that. All they accomplished, were to make me feel confused, boxed and plastic. So I decided willpower would have to do it.

I needed to complete a goal! Just one to work on. So I stopped biting my fingernails. It was one of my hardest goals to complete...and I didn't wait until Monday to begin it. I didn't write it down and ignore it. I was tired of my hands looking like they did. Each day I took care to use lotions and creams to keep them soft and slowly they grew. Slowly I actually completed a goal! Without having a perfectly cleaned house, all my clutter junked, or even the dishes done. Nope, I decided to just jump in and see what I could do.

This has lead me to start on so many other goals.

Cleaning and dejunking my home.

Making a budget and STICKING TO IT!

Getting a good calendar and write everything in it.

Be better prepared!

Go through the house room to room and make a cleaning schedule.

Make doctors appointments and get my health taken care of!

I've decided to work on those goals I have, not by waiting for Monday. Or when I had everything done. Nope, I'm going to muddle through and do the goals I have, whenever I can, in whatever situation, and in the end, as I check them off I've learned I'm no longer that procrastinator! I'm capable of doing what I need to do!

I can leave the procrastinator behind and become who I know I want to be!

Life is good!
