I have had self-image problems my entire life. I was always average in weight, but during my first pregnancy I put on more weight than was healthy, and didn't lose much of it. Same thing after my second pregnancy. After my third pregnancy, I knew I had to do something. Being 5'5" and weighing in at 204lbs post pregnancy was not ideal! I followed a strict, doctor supervised diet, and lost 60lbs! This was an extreme diet, that taught me a lot about my overall health, it was not a lifestyle change. I have gained back 15lbs. Which isn't bad, considering this diet was designed for quick weight loss, and not as a permanent change. I am on a learning curve, and have decided to make a permanent lifestyle change! I want to lose the 15lbs that I gained back, but I am not interested in fad or extreme diets. I want to do this on my own terms! There have been a lot of bumps in the road, I lose a few pounds, and gain them back, but I am learning so much about good health and about healthy choices! I have certainly developed an appreciation for my health and well-being. Now I have to find the motivation to stay with it, and to make sure I get some exercise in every day. Not always easy with 3 small children and a daycare to run. Hopefully with the support of this community, I can do it! Afterall, 15lbs isn't a lot. I know I can do this!

My Goals:
My only goal is to be comfortable in my own skin. I don't need to be skinny, I need to be healthy, and I need to feel good.

I have lost 60lbs on a doctor supervised diet, but it was not a lifestyle change. It was meant to lose weight. I want a lifestyle change to lose my last 15lbs.

Ultimately I want my kids to learn from my example on a healthy lifestyle so they don't have to worry about their health like I did.

My Program:
I am making healthier choices. I am making healthier substitutions and trying new things! And even my husband likes some of these foods that I have discovered!

Personal Information:
I live in a small town in Central British Columbia.

I have a wonderfully supportive husband, and three amazing and inspiring children.

I do not have many friends, but I am blessed to have the ones that I do. I am very fulfilled.

Other Information:
I am a huge fan of books. I read most genres, but am picky about my authors. My favourites are Dean Koontz, Jim Butcher and George R.R. Martin

Once my kids are sleeping, I tune into some of my favourite shows like The Walking Dead, NCIS, Supernatural, OITNB, Breaking Bad.

I could not imagine my life without my music! I love classic rock and one of my favourite solo piano composers is Yiruma.

    Awesome! Every day we get to try again. This is a "rest of your life" plan and there is no reason not to enjoy life to the fullest - and this does mean the occasional indulgence.

    I had 20 lbs to lose on Jan 1 and today I have 3-4 left to go. While it does hurt to get on the scale and it has gone back up, tomorrow is another day.

    YOU can do it!

    First of all, what cute kids you have. Their picture is so precious. I have found that when I deprive myself of something, I want it more. So if I am going to be eating a large dinner, then I will eat lighter at the other meals and/or increase my exercise and burn off more calories. At the end of the day, it is calories in and calories burned. So enjoy that lasagna and have a great Birthday.

    Awww, you're so welcome! I know.. I love all the support and kind people on this site, and encouragement! Hahahaha! You're so right!! My husband is an amazing guy for sure! I'm sure you have a lot of the same qualities seeing that you share the same birthday- and even the same birth year! Let me know how your greek yogurt turns out..yum! I make homemade kefir for smoothies, and that is pretty tasty, but I haven't made yogurt yet. Have a great rest of your day! emoticon emoticon
