The short of it: lost 30lbs with SP from Jan '10 to May '10. Graduated from sonography school May 7th, couldn't find a job (see 6/6 blog), and completely stopped everything I was doing that was working and making me feel good. Lame. FINALLY found a job, and I am back. Although I only gained back about 1.5 lbs, it FEELS like ALL of it. But I'm starting over before it actually IS all of it. I still have mad skills, and I can still get into my size 12's...so I'm not too far down. I MISSED you, SP!

April 2010: Time to update...perspective has changed! I will keep the old "intro" [in brackets] because it sort of amuses me. I am now 2 pounds away from that 1st goal...and a MONTH early!

I realize now that's it's not all about the weight. It's not even MOSTLY about the weight. Who knew? My reasons for joining Spark People really didn't become apparent until recently, and here they are (in PRESENT tense):

+ I FEEL fantastic...which makes me LOOK a bazillion times better!
+ I am motivated from within most of the time...and when I'm not,
I am motivated by fellow Sparkers, little do they know ;)
+ I found some muscles, and want desperately to coax the rest of
them out!
+ More and more, I hear myself thinking "What's this meal gonna
DO for me?" This is a miracle in itself.
+ I am NEVER without something to look forward to! It's
impossible. I can try...let's see...nope, there it is...that future 10K...
oh, yeah, and that size 8 (6?)...there's always something on this
+ My BESTEST friend in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD has joined SP!

BTW: Contrary to my original intro, I am most definitely NOT "too cute to be so overweight." I don't even know what that means! Number one, there are LOTS of cute overweight girls, I was one of them (just saying). Number two, it never stopped me from getting fat. Dumb. I take it back.

My GOAL for April 2010: Learn to set non-weight goals! This has always been a difficulty for me, and has certainly held me back in many aspects. I will post a GOAL blog within the next couple of days FO SHO.

January 2010 [Hello all! I am a 33-year-old San Antonian and I am trying to lose 25 lbs by May 7th. That's the day I am graduating with a degree in diagnostic ultrasound...the day my life changes forever :) I am very comfortable in my skin, so to speak...but not in my clothes! I am too cute to be so overweight...Losing 25 lbs isn't my ULTIMATE goal, but it's a start that I can handle. WISH ME LUCK!]
