Hey all!.., here''s my story :-) my name is Jessie and I''m 44 yrs old., have always been on the heavier side and can't do it anymore. Have been a member of this site for several years although I've lost my way and my password a few times I always seem to find my way back. with my heaviest weight being almost 250 lb and me being only 4 foot 11 I had to do something, all of the women on both sides of my family have always been heavier and I wasn't going to live my life that way. So, on April 18th 2016 I had a VSG (vertical sleeve gastrectomy) surgery, for those who don't know what that is, it's a form of weight loss surgery where they completely remove 80% of your stomach leaving you with a small plantain sized stomach. everything went well for me from the date of surgery until September of 2016, and then for no reason whatsoever the weight loss just stopped. As of this past week I have started journaling my food again and taken off another 4.4 lb, during the time that my weight loss has stopped I had gone up to 172 where my lowest since surgery had been 160, my long-term goal at this point is 140.

My Goals:
well here i am., this time in september 2005, i weighed in at 165 and then the stress came into my life and i added 20lbs.., then i moved home where there is absolutely nothing to do and lost all motivation to move and then i gained even more.., in the end, i have gained back a total of 75 lbs., bringing me back up to 238, losing a little here and a little there, but never being able to really keep it off. for health and peace of mind., i would like to go back down to that 165 or as close to it as i can., one step at a time. Here we are in 2010 and in august of next year, I have my 20 year high school reunion, my hope is that I will not only knock'em dead, but I'll surprise and please myself at the same time. I'm only 37,I've got plenty of living to do!!

My Program:
today., what i am doing to keep myself moving little by little is i am watching my intake a lot more than i used to- even though it can be hard esp when you go out to eat on occasion and things aren''t portioned- have joined a gym and am getting in there as often as possible and working my butt off each time I go. Keeping a close eye on junk food and trying to substitute it with either low fat cottage cheese or dried fuits (yumm) will keep all posted on my progress.., good luck to all!

    Hi Jessie,

    I saw your comment on a board and wanted to come say hi. We are in the "short girls" club, it seems. LOL I am only 5 foot, and started Sparkpeople at 208 lbs. From your page, I have a feeling you also suffer from low back pain, which is a major problem for me. So much so that I can't even work outside the home now. So, I wanted to say hi and give you some support! I wish you lots of luck, and I know if you stick with Sparkpeople, that you'll reach your goals!
