It was time to start taking care of myself as the weight was slowly adding up so I joined SparkPeople about 1.5 years ago. I have lost 20 lbs so far. I have had some ups and downs so far with losing 35 lbs at one point only to gain 20 lbs back. Now I am somewhere in the middle and have rejuvenated the effort. Thanks to SparkPeople. And thank-you to myself. I have done a good job with the positive changes. I am going to pat myself on the back.

Some of my bad habits were drinking too much Coke as I would have one or two cans a day. At lunch I would get in my car and cruise for fast food. I think the worst fast food is the fries and the pop. I also wasn't exercising enough.

Lately I am trying something new. I have learnt about the Blood Type Diet and found my blood type to be 'O Positive'. Following the program I am trying new eating habits, limiting wheat, corn and diary products. I am walking at lunch and have restarted my running program. I also do Wii fitness including EA Sports Active. I am also swimming on the weekend.

Recently I did my run program interval run / walk around a 6 km lake and the time around the lake was:

2009-04-08 - 56 min
2009-04-16 - 52.5 min
2009-04-22 - 49 min
2009-04-27 - 45.5 min
2009-05-01 - 45 min 25 sec
2010-09-07 - 51.5 min
2010-10-05 - 47 min

Weight loss mini goals:

216.5 lbs - half way goal - reward new Wii Game and the all new EA Sports Active game. (see my EA Sports Active Team)
214 lbs - not obese anymore; that's my reward
209.9 lbs - less than 210 lbs – reward rum and coke.
208 lbs - 30 lb weight loss and I remember being this weight for quite a while years ago so I think it will be neat to be back at this weight.
199.9 lbs. - less than 200 - wow this would be cool - I will think about reward.
195 lbs - goal

My original goal was to make it to 185 lbs. but I'm trying to be a realist so I reset it to 195 lbs. That gives me a new 10 lbs goal in the future once I finish this one. Wish me luck! I am determined to do this.

Lose weight and increase fittness so I can continue to keep up with the energetic people around me and so I can continue to do the fun things that I enjoy.

My Program:
To meet my goals I am doing more cardio, staying away from fast food, quit drinking fizzy drinks, tracking what I consume and my measurements, and educating myself using sparkpeople.

Other Information:
I like walking, hiking, camping, swimming, kayaking, fun, family, boating, movies and good friends.
