I am a returning Sparker. I have been off doing many things for the past two years. One of the things that has made a huge impact on my life is running. I completed two half marathons in 2014 and have my sights set on a full marathon in May 2015. I have some obstacles to overcome (but what marathoner doesn't?). I have been unable to find support with my "in person friends" who think I am crazy and my family is somewhat supportive but I think they are questioning the sanity of my desire and drive to run 26.2 miles. I don't have any specific weight goals at this point. It would be nice to be around 150 for a "racing" weight but I am going to concentrate on training and eating healthy. I believe that this is the best focus for me. Update...I completed the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon on May 17, 2015 in a time of 5:30:04 on a quite warm and humid day. As I was looking at my SparkPage I realized the old title was "Marathoner Wannabe". I reached that goal and have given some thought to my next goals. I plan to run a half marathon in St. Paul, MN in August and one in Eau Claire, WI in October. I have also decided to work on reaching a weight of 150, toning up and reducing body fat percentage. UPDATE With great sadness I update my profile this year. 2017 was filled with sadness and tough realizations. The hardest being leaving my husband of almost 9 years. I love him dearly but he is abusive and I can no longer live under that oppression. my heart breaks every day but I must get back to taking care of myself. I gained 40 pounds over the past year and it has added to my depression. I pray that 2018 is a year of recovery. Update It is now 2021...2018 was not a year of recovery. It was a year of struggle. A year on which I survived multiple attempts to end my life. 2019 was a year of getting the psychiatric care I need. 2020 was the year of the pandemic. I also tried new meds that triggered fast weight gain. I am now at my heaviest weight ever. I'm coming back to spark people in search of support and ideas.
