Oh duh! When the line said, "Being a vet...." I thought you were talking first person. Guess I should have read more carefully. Well, chalk it up to being super tired. LOL Still loved what you wrote.
P.S. - Accountant, boring? Not to me, since I'm a bookkeeper. Spent all day on Quick Books, just taking a break to check my Spark stuff.

Hey there! My dear, you made my day with your wonderful comments on my page! I was so touched by your thoughtfulness, & loved your story about the Irish Wolfhound. About the little boy's comment, guess that's why they coined the phrase, "from the mouth of babes."

I too was on the floor with my wonderful Bosco when he was lovingly put down on June 6th. You sound every bit as compassionate & caring as my own Vet. This wonderful woman is pregnant with twins, yet there she was, right down on the floor with us. Bosco's death was hard on her too, as her own dog died from liver disease, same as Bosco. She was always trying things with Bosco that she'd wished she'd tried with her own dog. Good old Bosco was busily munching his favorite snacks when he was euthanized, & he simply put his head down & went to sleep. I stayed with him for another hour at least, with my DH having to drag me away. Major heartbreak.

I'm sure in your line of work you hear this all the time, but that dog was the love of my life. I've had many dogs & loved them all. And I still have my little blind beagle, Speedy (who is lost without his buddy). But Bosco was DIFFERENT. We shared an incredible bond that I've never experienced with any other animal. Even 6 weeks after his death, I still cry at least once a day over the pain of life without him. I've been unwilling to remove any of his things from the house. Gosh, sorry to ramble...duh!

Anyway, I really just meant to come here & thank you so very much for taking the time to share that beautiful story. I honestly don't know how you cope with going through this scenario with people time & time again. My childhood dream was to become a Veterinarian, but I simply cannot handle the sad stuff (I'm a wuss...LOL). Kudos to you for the wonderful work you do!

Have missed you on the threads, although I've been mostly MIA lately as well. I was so glad to hear from you & hope you're having a wonderful summer. Hugs to you & your furry babies.
