Despite all the challenges that we all go through I am thankful that God has blessed me with a wonderful family, a forgiving heart, a great attitude, the motivation to be the best that I can be and some good common sense. The longer live the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more importatnt than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company...a church...a home. The remarkable thing is that we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we embrace that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude...I am convinced that life is 10 % of what happenens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attiudes.

Go for it, make it a good day. Work out first thing in the morning and you will find you will have a lot of energy and able to accomplish anything you are set out to do that day.

hello and welcome to Gardening. You soundlike you have been through quite an ordeal. My daughter was in a car accident 3 years ago and injured her back. The doctor that did the surgery screwed up the procedure and a bone shot through and into the back of her stomache. What was supose to be 2 to no more than 3 hours of surgery took over 8 hours. They didn't come out to tell us for hours after it happened. kept asking and thye kept putting us off. My son-in-law finally insisted they find someone before he made a grand entrance into the surgery room. We were devasted when they finally told us they had to end one surgery and do and emergency MRI to see where they messed up. She lay doped up and in intensive care for aweek before the experts could come from Nashville and see what went wrong with the procedure. It was days before she could comprehend what happened to her and of course she was devasted. They had to go in and cut her fromthe bottom of her left groin to the top of her right breast to retrieve what had been shot into the back of her stomache. It barely missed an important artery in the beginning. They first told us it would only be a small cut. it was along recovery for her. She had to learn to walk all over again and now can never have children. The person who hit her car insurance paid for the surgery but evry attorney we contacted would not go up against the doctor or hospital. She literally got screwed! One atorney actually said to her and her husband when she sat down with him that "--it happens!" One finally took the case and all was ready to take place and right before the court date he had to give up the case because he said he attended church with the doctor. Strange - the doctor was catholic - the atorney was Baptist - go figure.

Hi, Shakenbake. I live way out in Alpine, in west Texas, near Big Band National Park. It's dry here, so I suppose we have different gardening challenges than you do. My husband has an amazing green thumb. We actually have a better garden in the fall than in the summer--right now we're getting greens and broccoli that just won't do anything in the summer heat.
