Feb- 2008- After many years of yo-yo dieting and six months of menopause hitting me hard, I am resolved to making my weight loss a priority. I have lost over 30 pounds since August 2007 and plan on getting back to my goal weight for the first time in over 15 years.

As of January 2010, my husband and I are both happily retired and determined to make our health and fitness a priority. No more excuses about not having enough time. Walking is our exercise of choice and doing so in various parks around the area enhances the enjoyment of the process. Plenty of healthy cooking going on as well and with two people interested in the cooking, there is always something good to eat. I go to Weight Watchers and have done well in the past on the "core" plan. Now I am counting points and eating lots of "filling foods". I'm interested in learning more about walking for fitness and trying new recipes.
As of July 2012, my youngest daughter has graduated from high school and on her way to Texas Tech University. I am on my way to losing my weight for the umpteenth and hopefully last time. Still doing Weight Watchers and am back to eating well and some activity. Looking forward to what retirement after your last high schooler is like. Wish me luck!
June 2015- Here I am back again. Maybe I can get it right this time! :)
November 2015- I have lost over 30 pounds from my highest ever weight. Plugging along, eating well, going to meetings weekly without fail and getting at least 7700 steps per day, preferably over 10,000. Seems to be working pretty well. As of Monday, November 2, I'm have lost over half of the weight I plan to lose.

My Goals:
Exercise- get at least 7700 steps per day, preferably 10,000.
Eat- within my Points range using my weekly points allowance to its fullest.
Meetings-Attend and actively participate in WW meeting on Wednesdays at noon or whatever fits into my travel schedule.

My Program:
Going to WW weekly no matter where I might be and doing the PointsPlus option and choosing more "power foods." I haven't missed a meeting since June 2015.

Personal Information:
I live in the Gulf Coast area of Texas and am a retired associate professor who taught health professions students in a Master's Degree program. I am married and have two daughters .

Other Information:
I enjoy gardening, cooking, crosswords, crocheting, computer time, and being involved in my daughter's dance, choir and drill team endeavors.
