Let me introduce myself, My name is Rhonda and I am from Ontario, Canada and I am ready to make my life happen rather than watching it pass by. I have about 45lbs to lose in order to achieve my personal goal of health. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired and I am ready to take the steps to make that happen. It is amazing if health and weight lose were in pill format we would be all over it. Anything that takes personal commitment and change seems to get put on the back buner until you reach the point that you have to do something about it....as not doing anything about it is no longer working. Subsequently I have 45lbs to lose rather than the 10 or 15 I started out with! I hope to be able to find all I need here at Spark and to give back to the Spark community!

Thanks and welcome back. I hope you had a terrific vacation.
Thanks for your message on my blog. I do have a doctor's apt. this Wednesday. We are going to figure out why I am not sleeping and why my weight it up so much. It could be hermonal, I am 47 and will be 48 in November. I did get in 7 hours of sleep last night and I am starting to feel less emotional so that is good. More sleep and I think I will be my sparkling self again. Hugs

Great to hear you are on vacation, I haven't been on your blogs before. Oh I wish I had!! Hashimoto's and graves? SNAP!! I don't believe it! After reading two of your blogs I got quite giddy! No one has heard of it over here! I had to come on the net to find out what it was. I was just told 'Graves eye disease and it effect your thyroid and makes your eyes bulge' that it was because of deposits behind the eyes. I only found out because I got double vision!

WOW and the comment that another person thinks it yo yo's! HALLELUJAH!! I suggested that once at the hospital, because I couldn't understand why I was SO hypo (at that time) and had the symptoms of it so long, but had gained about two stone in no time, (which thought, combined with the hot weather and heavy work load was the problem until my blood test time came round) And that I had happened before, and that no matter how hard I tried the dieting didn't work very well! But then it then gone away again on it's own! I got that look you get when you say ' I do try lose weight, but I have Thyroid trouble'! Ha ha! You know the look? the 'tut, yeah, that old chestnut ' look!

My sympathetic doc then smiled and shook his head slightly ' yes I suppose it is possible' in pretty patronizing tone. 'But I think you may just be eating more than you realize because it will make you feel hungry when it is so high and also maybe not doing much because it makes you feel tired '

Mine is technically 'Graves disease and thyroid eye disease'

Fear ye not fair maiden! Although it is royal PAIN when it is running around out of control, it is fine once it is under control!! I have even stopped all my meds now and feel okay! (thought he doc visit and the bi annual blood test in a couple of months will be the decider if I can stay off them)

So don't worry, things will be fine! you just keep sparking (messing about with special foods and stopping eating stuff is just a waste of time to me, it makes virtually no difference!) Just keep as cheerful as you seem to be, all will be good in the end!
