6/18/21: The very last challenge starts sad the whole is going to be done. Stopping. No more sparkpeople. I guess I better take some time and see what foods I have listed I might want to save on my pc.

4/3/2021: The 5% challenge starts today. I'm up a smidge from a week ago but that could be the sodium in the slice of pizza I had for dinner last evening. Not letting that dinner discourage me.

March 5th - Spring is around the corner. Yes!

12/23: The challenge has been over for a couple of weeks.

9/27: The Fall 5%Challenge starts tomorrow and I'm on the Starfish team. Yea!

8/30: The Summer 5% Challenge has ended! That eight weeks sure went fast.... :)

6/27: The new Summer 5% Challenge has started

5/30: The challenge has ended.

4/30: The Spring 5% Challenge will start tomorrow.
2/14: I'm an app user; downloaded a new one called Libra on the 1st. I already track on WW but this gives me more a "trend" weight versus an actually "this is what a weigh right now" kind of thing. It was time to rethink my goal; I picked a new one 160# and a finishline. Then as I enter the data, the new app configures the trend and whether my finish will be met sooner or later. And that's a relief for me!

2/14: The banner picture is of my son Doug after one of his many mountain climbs.

1/17/2020: The Winter 5% Challenge is up and running.

12/6/19: The Fall 5% Challenge is over. I'd say I did much better this time.

10/19/19: Up a little this past week in weight; I have increased my walking steps plus I've been more consistent with longer walks.

10/11/19: I updated my data for exercise minutes & water on the sparkpage for the challenge. It's been a busy week; however, the sun has been shining for days & I love it!

This morning I joined the Fall 5% Challenge.

6/16/19: This is exciting! I just joined the 5% Challenge; it's been a year or more. So appreciative of the invite. :)

Today is a special day for a lot of people. I, myself, remember my Dad well though he passed a week after his 69th birthday in 1984. I miss you dad.

After listening to a video on Instagram from a former fellow weight watcher, I realized that I never left really left Sparkpeople. I do devote a considerable amount of time on Connect (an app) but I have been checking in on Sparkpeople at least once month in the last year; maybe picking one day where I would enter everything I usually eat & overeat (lol) just to see if I'm continuing on my relentless job of staying healthy & easing my mind with some of the processed foods I seem to love (Lean Cuisine for example).

I remember my doctor last year happy, happy I had joined a company where I could manage my weight loss (Weight Watchers) & belong to a community. She also suggested "myfitnesspal" but I told her I was secretly lazy & had a Sparkpeople database full of foods I had begun to enter back in 2009. She was glad that I still used it as I explained a quick synopsis of what it's about. I'm still a paying member of WW & again, I don't mind as I'm just about at my 365th day of tracking EVERY morning with my coffee. That is a huge non-scale victory for me!

But I miss SP, some of the camaraderie I had in a particular group. So I've never really left sparkpeople, I had taken a break & again realized it's one of the best, if not the only, website/app that I've come across in all the years.

All for feels good to share a little bit about what I've been doing.

12/31/18: Happy New Year!

12/2018: Down 2.8#'s

11/8/18: Weigh in: down 15lbs!

10/23/18: It's been awhile since I've posted here. I'm alive & well; doing good. Volunteering keeps me busy.

8/17: Down 0.8#

8/10: Down 7.6#

8/7: The weeks are flying by....warm weather brings me a chance to work out in the yard. :)

7/7: Week 2 of Challenge

7/5: 5% Challenge has started. 1st weigh in tomorrow

6/29/18: The Summer 5% Challenge begins tomorrow :)

6/6/18: Come join the 2018 Summer 5% Challenge!

5/21/18: The Spring Challenge is in the final stretch. The weather being warmer makes it easier to just lace up and go outside. My rhododendrons have been in full bloom; I love this time of year. It's not too hot and not cold anymore.

4/22/18: Spring has returned & the weather is sunny! 5% Challenge is going okay. Just a couple of hicups in my routine but nnothing earth-shattering LOL

4/5/18: The Spring 5% Challenge is starting this Saturday! :)

4/1/18: Easter is today.

3/29/18: The 2018 Spring 5% Challenge will start April 7th and I'm sticking with the In-Between Challenge. My daily fix ☺

3/10/18: Winter Challenge is over & the In-Between Challenge has begun. That's what I like about the Starfish team.
I did better, I didn't gain a bunch of weight and managed to maintain a regular exercise routine. Baby steps....☺

2/16/18: The Winter 5% Challenge is up and going. I believe tomorrow starts week 6. Pleased with myself getting regular exercise.

12/24/17: Happy Christmas Eve 🎄🎋🎀🎉

A new month already; my, how time flies ☺ The % Challenge is over and though I did lose weight, I also gained some insight into my motivation; what drives me. I think that is the whole purpose.

The month started out sunny and I so enjoy getting outside, especially to walk. Now that we are in the 2nd week of the month, the steady rain has returned and the temperature is closer to normal.
I'm doing well on the Fall Challenge; I think it has to do with my doctor upping my thyroid medication. Most of the time I feel more energetic & I have been dropping weight. I'm close to the 5% goal; that's a first for me.

The Fall 5% Challenge is up and going, we are I'm week 2. So far, so good ☺

Oh how I miss vacation but I'm happy to be back to work. The Fall challenge starts on the 7th and I will welcome the idea of keeping track again.

September 16th:
Fall is in the air. And the 5% Fall Challenge will begin this month. I have found myself recovering nicely from my hip surgery; it'll be 3 months on the 27th. My mobility is good, I feel good, and yes, I would have like to be thinner but it was more important to concentrate on health.

I'm a week away from my 2 month follow up appt with hip surgeon. Recovery has been good; my mobility has returned. Still not going to the gym, that comes later. I do try to get walks in. I take short drives to keep busy and get out. Family and friends have been a big help.

And the Summer 5% Challenge is almost over.
My time flies! I haven't lost very much but I feel like the comradiere in the group is what I needed the most.

Today is my birthday. What a gift, to wake up, have a roof over my head, and a good, healthy breakfast. I am so grateful for the life I have. It's been a great day so far. I'll be sure to post more later.

The Spring 5% Challenge is up & running. I have goals in mind that may help me stay focused on the stay healthy, drop weight before my surgery this summer, increase my ability to strength train :)
1. Track every morsel of food, drink, and water
2. 10 minutes of exercise 3 times a day
3. Thank the good Lord every day for giving me free will to make decisions

I joined the Spring 5% Challenge and get to be on the Starfish Team again! We start soon ☺

The Winter 5% Challenge is over. How did I do?
1. I'd say never giving up for 8 weeks is huge! I posted daily (never dreamed I'd do that) and offered encouragement when I could.
2. I found that 6am was the best time for me to post.
3. Having a bad cold and never-ending cough did not cause me to stop. I just hung in there, dealt with the fatigue, and read member blogs.
4. I found myself sharing with a co-worker one week half way thru the challenge my journey when I got recognition on my team.
5. I found out just how much I love eating in the evening. Something to work on.
6. I joined the In-Between Challenge today. I found my accountability and I don't want to lose it.

I'm half through the Winter 5% time flies! I'm so glad I joined as I'm finding myself looking forward to tracking all my food. And I'm reading more inspirational blogs.

I'm in my 60's and I'm not retired. I am loving life, continue to work through physical challenges, & like going to Curves again. I am a mother, a cousin, an auntee, a friend, a co-worker and I volunteer. I had a total hip replacement on 6/23/2015. I am pain-free in my right hip. I can expect to get the other done within 5 years. I joined SP in 2009 and came back recently after a 3 year absence. I'm trying to make a better connection this time with others, workout consistently, and track every day.

I'm still loving life & since 2013, to be honest, I have struggled with a smile on my face. Thank God for good friends and family who have stood by my side as I had came to grips with accepting the fact I'm not as young as I used to be but I'm no where near being considered old. I'm aging gracefully; giving a face to what a 67 year old woman looks like. In the 3 years, I have hardly made it regularly to Curves but something bigger than me has nudged me back into the fitness world. Starting Monday, August 22nd, I am committed to 150 minutes a week exercise. This will include 90 minutes at Curves. I am committed to building in enough down time to allow my body to recover from any discomfort or pain. I will have some, varying degrees.

April 7, 2013

I no longer drink soda pop, junk food, or jelly beans from Costco...I have lost many #'s & 11 inches. I no longer have those "cravings" I

How have you been? Hope the COVID-19 is staying away from you.
Here the numbers are going up daily now over 1300 in our small community, staying home except for food shopping. Will be happy to move to Phase 2 so I can get a much needed haircut it is longer than I like for it to be. I cut Hubby's but do not trust his talents as far as him cutting mine.
My cat was just diagnosed with diabetes, I have to give him insulin shots twice a day he has lost weight and I worry about him.
    Enjoy your weekend.
