Hey! Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you after you left a comment on my wall - I've been away interviewing for new jobs and stuff so haven't been on spark for a week. The answer to your question is you may intially gain a little weight if you haven't been eating at all, but if you make sure to eat healthy and keep up with a good excercise regime then it should come right back off again. The problem with eating so few calories isn't just that it will lower your metabolic rate and so halt your weightloss, but you also won't be able to work out properly if you're not eating - I know I used to try! Now with a healthy diet and hard excercise regime the weight is coming off steadily and I'm a lot fitter than I have been in a very long time! I hope you figure it all out - I know how hard it is when you stop eating to start again, I went through 2 months of eating literally nothing unless I really felt like I would pass out when I would eat a plum or something, but I felt dreadful all the time and had no energy. Doing it the healthy eating and excercise way takes time and dedication but you'll feel much better and you will have a lot more energy, plus you are a lot more likely to keep it off. Good luck xx

Hey! thanks so much for the comments today! I read a couple of your blogs and I wanted to share a tip I read in my diet & fitness journal:

"Consuming too few calories will not necessarily get you to your goal weight faster. If you're not eating enough, your body will lower your basal metabolic rate (BMR) in order to conserve its fat stores, so instead of needing say 1500 calories per day, you may only require 1000. So if you're consuming 1200, that might be 200 too many, and you may actually gain weight."

I usually use my BMR as a target for caloric intake, and it is working great for me. So enjoy the calories Spark recommends and the weight will totally come off!! Weighing myself daily drove me insane, so I switched to Mondays only and it is working great.

Thanks for the add, I will add you too!
    Good luck!

Thanks for the comment on my blog! To answer your question about ranges, after have trying several different calorie ranges on other sites, I like Spark People's the best. Other sites tend to add the calories you would burn doing various exercises to their calorie ranges (ex: under Daily Plate they add the calories you would burn doing light activies, like working at a desk), rather then to let you add them yourself. I did Daily Plate for a little more than 6 weeks and at first I lost weight, but then I noticed it slowly stopping. I just thought their ranges were strictly what you would need in a week to lose 2 lbs, I didn't realize that they were adding things to it until I accidently found it on their site. I hope this helps!
