My muffin top is lingering too- so I have ramped up my cardio & dug out my out Gunnar Petersen core secrets dvd's and ball. Just got done with that work out today. The abs are feeling like they have been through a meatgrinder which is fine by me. I was invited to speak at a national conference in mid March- want to look fine for that gig!

January 1 was my clean slate day. I decided no more excuses. I had finished the coursework for my PhD and life got a little saner- no more raising my child in the medical library and grabbing hospital food for dinner (he of course thought that was a very cool life). I will be moving to a new state (find out where Feb 23) and wanted to go to this new place looking amazing.

Back to eating clean, I make as much of my food as I can from scratch- tortillas, waffles, bread. I also use my slow cooker as much as possible-
Chef Meg's Boston Baked beans were perfect. No meat period. Eggs from my very own back yard chickens who are fed organic feed. Sprout my own seeds. I also can my own salsa from my tomato plants. As for extra work- yes there is some- but my son loves to help- and we freeze food made on the weekend for week days. At first all of this seemed like a pain and going back looked easy, but I get such a sense of pride out of being self-reliant and feeding my son whole foods.

Sorry to hear that you can't make your local Zumba classes. Have you looked into purchasing a DVD through amazon.com or craigslist? You would be able to do it at your home, when You are ready!

If you go to my page, there's a team "Working out at Home" - and there are some good suggestions for different workouts & dvd's on there, too. Great for when you don't know 'when' you'll have 30 minutes or an hour to yourself!

Thanks for the Goodwill tip....I drive past one on my way to work. I will look for that particular dvd...real people exercising works for me....fitness models can be so discouraging to follow.....
(Kinda like my sister who is a personal trainer...she looks GREAT...but working out all day with clients is her job....I'd look fab if I could exercise for a living too )
