I've had weight issues (food addiction stemming from emotional "stuff" -- it had been a way to cope early on, I am sure) since about 9 or 10 years old., I am 69 yrs old now, and had been so fed up with my weight for decades. Not only was I super obese, but everything hurt (though much better now as the numbers have dropped significantly ). After 13+ years in the UK (I married a Brit in early 2005), I have finally returned to Oregon, USA, at the end of February (2018) -- single. I am thrilled to be back near my family! My highest weight, as embarrassing as it feels to admit it, was 384, the end of June, 2016. And on 18 Feb, 2018 I weighed in at just over 197. ONEDERLAND! Now at 182, I have only 10-15 or so to go, depending on what my 69 yr old body can do. Having tossed out over 200 pounds so far, I feel a bazillion times better! Care to join me? ;)

My Goals:
To lose the excess weight, be fitter and feel better, I want to enjoy Life more and see the grandkids grow up, too!
I have been learning get past my emotional eating and keep on losing, and I am much healthier.

My Program:
A Very Low Carb food (aka Ketogenic) plan works for me. And I walk every day now, since I got a dog.
I've improving - vertigo prevents my walking very far or fast, but I get out into the back garden several times a week with my Monster Dog, too.

Personal Information:
I have 2 grown sons back in the US, and I am a grandma, too -- I miss all of them terribly. But I am excited and looking forward to moving back.

    Hi Debra and welcome to the team!
    The one thing about this site (and team of course) is that unlike life in general, everyone is on your side and wants you to do well.
    There are some great people in the Midlands team, and having met some of them, know that I have made life long friends.
    I do hope that you will also feel the same way after time. We are currently trying to get a "get together" for a Sunday lunch for the 12th September (venue still needs to be confirmed, although it looks like somewhere in Birmingham) and you of course would be made most welcome if you can make it.
    As Mandy (Slim Jim) has said, stay with us and take part in as much as you can, that way you will succeed in your goals.
    Anything that you may not be sure of, just ask. There's lots of us willing to help out with an answer!
    Have you still got the bike in the photo, and do you ride regularly?

    I'm Jude, Leader of the UK Midlands Team.
    I saw your note on the UK forum saying that you lived in Leicestershire & thought I would drop you a line to invite you to join our team. We are a great friendly, supportive bunch & would love to have you with us.
    We do loads of things & have even just started meeting up with each other for the odd Sunday lunch, the first of which was in Telford, one was in Feb in Birmingham & the last one was in Nottingham in May. At the moment we are trying to organise one for September 12th.
    Each year for the past 3 years, Pete (DH & also CATMAN124) & I have organised the UK Main Team Party in the Park at Coombe Abbey and although the gatherings have only been small so far, we are hoping that as an annual event, it will grow & grow. This year it was on Saturday 24th July.

    Hope to see you in the UK Midlands Team soon.
