Back on the road again....bathing suit season, here I come!

The last two months have been pretty hectic. I haven't lost any weight since February! Not to make excuses, but I was planning for the busiest business trip of the year since early February, and then went on that trip in March for a week. As soon as I got back I moved, which totally threw off my schedule. Last week was my first week in the new apartment/office, and while I was trying to get back on schedule, there was still a lot of snacking and not counting calories. However, I was able to get my exercise schedule back on, which is a good start.

Now I'm ready to bust it out again! I'm determined to track every calorie this week. I've had to tell myself "no" several times today already, but at least I'm not giving in to grazing like I did last week! It's only Monday afternoon, but I'm confident that I can keep this up. I just need to set my mind to it.

This morning I slept in a little, so I didn't do my strength training before I went swimming. After swimming, I did some errands and by the time I got home I was tempted to just skip the strength. But I forced myself to do it and felt great afterwards. I need to remember that feeling of accomplishment after strength to motivate myself. Strength was really hard to get back into, because after 3 weeks off, I had really lost a lot of muscle and couldn't do as many reps.

But the nice weather is FINALLY here, and that is probably the biggest motivator to get back on the weight loss train. I played tennis twice this weekend, which is a huge step up from doing nothing on the weekends all winter. Exercising and being outside makes me want to eat healthier. For example, on Sunday after playing tennis, I had half a can of soup for lunch and some grapes. I normally don't eat very well on the weekends, and most weekdays I'll have the whole can of soup for lunch. I just didn't feel like eating as much because it was so warm out!

The sun being out really helps too. It makes you want to get outside and get moving, and I want to be at my goal weight by the time I have to wear a swimming suit in public. (around June.)

I didn't make my weight loss goals that I set in January (not even close) but I'm going to start over and keep on going this time. I started SP (for real) on April 9 last year, so it's about a year of practicing healthy habits for me. It's okay that I haven't met my goal weight in a year's time, because I know I will make it eventually, and after that it will be gone forever!
