Second milestone reached

This week I reached my second 10% goal. I've lost 24 pounds, or 20% of my goal. This second 10% took a hell of a lot longer than those first 12 pounds. But that's okay. I've stuck with this new healthy lifestyle. It's not a diet. It really has become my life. So losing 1-1.5 pounds a week is okay. I know I can keep doing this.
I've always been into exercising, and now I try to incorporate it into errands, instead of taking the car, too. Partly to be "greener," partly to get extra exercise. I walked to the dentist this morning and am headed to the library on my bike. It makes me feel good about my fitness, and about not using my car!
In four months, I've made changes that are sustainable. I think about my total calories for the day, and if I'm having a big lunch, I know I'll have WW or Lean Cuisine with extra veggies for dinner.
One big thing I've learned: I'm a protein person. I try to get at least 20% of my calories from protein, and preferrably 25-30%. Drinking skim milk helps, and I love it. The protein keeps me satieted so I don't nibble.
I still have things to work on, like emotional triggers or events. But, at least now if I have a bad Saturday, I make sure to make up for it with an extra healthy Sunday.
I'm really proud of myself. From this point forward, any weight I lose will put me into weight ranges and clothing sizes I haven't seen since college. That's exciting!
