So Much harder this time

Friday, June 06, 2008

I've gone up in weight and lost it again a couple of times since starting spark people and have never found it that difficult to loose it. However this time i'm finding it really difficult. I worked out everyday and ate within my calories and only lost .4 of a pound! Its really frustrating. I'm so impatient I want to be at my goal weight now! Ha ha. I haven't got back into strenght training so might add that next week but its hard to find the time, I'm running 4 days a week and doing my stepper the other days, ah so frustrating not to be loosing but I won't give up!

It took me about five months to lose 30 lbs, and I had weeks like that too. I'd drop 2-3 lbs one week, and then maybe .5 lbs the next. I read online (and I swear it's true!!!) that some people eat one super high calorie meal when they hit a plateau, so I figured what the heck?? And scarfed down an entire 1500 calorie Chipotle burrito (and didn't count a single calorie of it towards my daily intake of about 1500)...and it freaking worked. I gained a lb the next day (sad times!!) but within four days, that lb would be gone and another one or two would be gone with it. Sometimes our metabolism says to us, "wtf?!?!" and we just have to feed it...and then be all like, "syke!!!" and start our diet again IMMEDIATELY. It jump started my metabolism and weightloss every single time. This is something I did about every 2-3 weeks. Hope it works for you!

Being impatient makes this journey even more pain staking, try and take it a day at a time. You are doing a great job but maybe you need to switch up your routine a little bit, keep your body guessing at what's coming next! When I hit a plateau I try and add new exercises and start calorie cycling, that way my body doesn't get too accustomed to the same old thing. You can do this, keep up the great job!

Just keep up with it and I am sure you will lose some more weight. I have gained some weight since me and my boyfriend got back together, so I need to be strict with myself and get losing those pounds fast.
