Reflecting on a pretty good day

I keep thinking about the good choices I made on Friday, July 18.

First, I went swimming with my kids. Instead of just playing around, I started thinking about "asking the experts" for some water aerobic type ideas I could do in the pool at home. As I thought more and more about this, I began experimenting with some things lying around.

I first just stood in the water and tried to do lunges and leg lifts. Pretty effective, but kind of boring. I saw a set of water wings and grabbed one with each hand. I got shoulder deep in the water and started doing arm lifts from my side to parallel with my shoulder. WOW, what good resistance. I tried putting them on my feet and repeating the leg lifts. Much more effective. I played around with a ball, trying to push it deeper and underwater then controlling it rising to the surface. Kind of tricky, but I could feel it in my arms. If sure added to some fun.

Later, our power went out because of a storm in the area. After the storm passed, we waited for the electricity to be restored. I decided to go outside and pull some weeds in the garden since the ground was already wet. Making it much easier!!

After that, I gathered some ripe fruit and vegetables and, after the power was restored, returned inside to make one of the most delicious side dishes I had made in a long time. All fresh and from my garden! Yum. That with some pork chops and wild rice. It was delicious.
