This is hard

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

We are still staying with my parent because are house still isn't ready to move in yet. Its getting harder for me everyday. My Mom loves to bake and try new things an she always wants me to try it. An if I don't then later I feel bad because I hurt her feeling. My family is big time junk food eaters and that is hard for me. Their is always junk food in the house and it makes me crazy because its things I love and I have a hard time saying no. I'm not sure what I am going to do, but try and not eat it.

But she should also be thinking about your feelings and what you are trying to achieve family should be supportive and realize that you are trying to make healthier choices just explain that to her and thank her for being there.

I know how hard it can be to have a family that doesn't eat as healthy as they should. My suggestion is to work with your mom's love of trying new things and suggest healthier versions of family favorites. The recipes on this site are a great resource. Perhaps as your family sees that healthy eating can be just as good as the other less healthy kind they will embrace healthier eating. Then you all will benefit from a healthier lifestyle. emoticon
