First Week into The New Me

I've now been on the New Healthy Eating For Me since last Monday - 9 days now - and I've actually been doing pretty darn good! I will not allow myself to "fall off of the wagon", and I am so darned determined to make good food choices and daily exercise a habit, so they will just be a "regular part" of my day instead of a "dreaded part of my day".

As for the eating, I cannot believe how well I've been doing with my better eating - but I have went out shopping and bought plenty of cottage cheese, fruits, fresh vegetables, nuts, and seafood that I'm in a pretty good supply - and wow have I been trying alot of different way to make vegetables!

I have had to make an adjustment on my projected exercise plan. I originally said I commit myself to getting up an hour early to do one hour of DDR and then one hour in the evening as well. However, it was taking me about 1 1/2 hours of "real time" to get in an "hour" of DDR time, and that's a lot to burn 300 calories. I've decided to do a brisk 2 mile walk every morning which is burning almost the same calories (Leslie Sansone with leg lifts, etc. and stretch band) - and it's only taking me 30 minutes - but, I have faithfully been doing the walk, and enjoying it as well.

I still need to work a little more on drinking the required waters. Perfect example: It's already 9 pm (bed is in 2 hours), and I've had 6 waters - still 2 to go!

I'm happy to report that I had a weight loss this week of 3.6 pounds, so that along with my "renewed motivation" is keeping me going every day - hey, one week down, only 23 more to go - not a problem!

    Congratulations on the 3.6 lb weight loss! That's fantastic! I'm pretty sure I'm not going to have a loss this week because I've been sick and not able to exercise at all. My boss made me feel better today when he said it took him about 2 full weeks to feel like he had all his energy back. I'm only at 10 days, but did manage to shovel round 1 of snow in about 30 minutes. More tired than usual, but some activity is better than none!

    I admire your determination. Good for you for looking for alternative ways to reach your goals when getting up an hour early to do DDR didn't work. Congratulations on eating more sensibly and losing 3.6 pounds so far. You're making great progress! Thank you for being an inspiration to me. emoticon

    Yay for the weight loss! I need to start walking too, but it's been so cold most mornings. I guess it's indoors for me for a little while longer.
