Another Victory!

My trainer told me since I could tie my shoes and all, we'd be attempting the DLs yesterday. I was excited and nervous.

I started out with the bar for 15. The first few reps were awkward and seeing as it's been about 2 months, if not longer, since I've done them I guess it should have been expected. They also weren't as low until after I got the feel for it again. It was almost like my back and legs had to relearn the move. IT was kinda weird. I definitely felt like I was in rehab. Technically..... :)

2nd set was 2-10s for 15. Same as the first set, after the first few reps things moved with more ease. Each set went like this as I kept adding weight each time. I made it to the 4th set at 115 lbs for 15. I could have kept going it felt great. I had some quivering from some loss of conditioning in my legs, but other than that it felt great.

For the rest of the day my back felt like it had actually released some tension, as weird as that sounds. I found myself moving out of reaction rather than having to bend carefully, etc. I won't be back to my max sets for a while but... soon. :) I'm SOOOO happy! I'm BACK!! Feeling more normal as the days go by!

Starting Weight: 174.8
I started a carb cycling diet yesterday. I will test it for 2 weeks because for some reason I can't get this weight loss moving without my trainers watchful eye.

Here's the plan:
Mon & Tues - 1540 (45/10/45)
Wed & Thurs - 1450 (45/25/30)
Fri - 1540 (45/10/45)
Sat - 1700 (40/40/20)

4 x 45 min. cardio and 5x ST

I'll weigh in this Saturday.

    Yeah, that's why I'm starting out at 4x 45 min. I know it's going to work it's way up to 5 and 6 days and then to 60 min. and then 2 a days. I've already moved it up from 30 min. to 45. 30 min. just didn't cut it.

    Starting this week with 26 weeks out, I figured it would be better to test this carb cycling than closer to the comp. I do have time to play with different methods at this point.

    The main thing that kick-started my fat loss for pre-comp was doing cardio (I never did extra cardio) and drinking a gallon of water a day. But don't go too hard too early with the cardio or you can't build it up as it get's closer. I found that doing full-body circuit style strength training instead of the traditional 3 day split helped so much. You still have time to cycle between different styles and keep surprising your body. Have you tried Tabata? I am right into it now, I much prefer it to the treadmil!
