A week of emergencies!

Sunday, March 22, 2009

I have been kinda spinning my wheels for the last few weeks. The end of winter......I seem to loose momentum. I have not stopped trying just not trying as much as I needed.

Then this last week has been crazy. Last Saturday my SIL (who is pregnant) rushed one of the twins (7yo) to the emergency room. She was basically not breathing. They treated her for asthma, (she has never been treated for asthma before) gave her some antibiotics, said she would be fine and sent her home. That night they were back in the emergency room with her running a fever. Again they treated her, said she would be fine, and sent her home. On Monday she started throwing up at school. They took her to her regular Dr. She said the ER Dr was over-dosing her with the meds he had given her. On Tuesday my SIL had to go to the emergency room (a different one) because she had not felt the baby move for 2 days. They determined the baby was okay just experiencing major stress. My niece that is 18 weeks pregnant was admitted to the same hospital on the same day. She had a urinary tract infection, was dilated to 1 cm and was having contractions. This is her 2nd pregnancy, She delivered the 1st one at 23 weeks and the baby died 6-1/2 months later. The Dr told her they had a 50% chance of saving the baby. On Wednesday she delivered a tiny perfect baby girl. Unfortunately at 18 weeks they are so tiny and some of the internal organs are not developed enough for life support. She lived for a little over an hour. They named her Callie Rose and on Friday buried her next to her sister.
I had planned my schedule so I could make the 2 hr drive to the cemetery for the service. Before I could leave on Friday morning, my daughter called. She was in the emergency room here locally. She had her 3 yo son with her. I picked him up and took him to my MIL and got back to the hospital for her to have Gallbladder surgery.

Spring break is this week for my boys and I. My plan is to have a quiet week at home, eat better and get lots of exercise working in my yard!!!! I have got to get back on track!! Thanks for letting me ramble on about my crazy life!

Have a great day!

I am so sorry to read about your troubled week. I have had two miscarriages and can relate somewhat to the devastating loss & emotion that your dear niece is going through. I will be lifting all of you up in prayer. It is a long process sometime, but God never gives us more than we can handle as long as we rely and wait on Him.
I hope that things are getting better.
    God Bless,
