What is it going to take???

Well, surprise surprise - I got burned out after 4 weeks and all that got me was a 3 lb loss. It was frustrating, almost 3 hours a day 6 days a week of working out, 800-1300 calorie deficits a day. I am not discouraged, just frustrated. I am hypothyroid, so I am just like - "tell me what I have to do to get this off and I'll do it", Unfortunately, I just don't have a clue. I have been off wheat for almost 5 weeks now - completely and totally, hoping this will help. I have been terrible at tracking the last 3 weeks. I have to get back on that. I am still working out just cut back to about 30-45 minutes 5 days a week. It became such a chore. I need to be better about planning, I get stuck and it all gets so boring.

Anyway, I am still going for it - just need to make some changes, I haven't quit. I just need to track it all so I can figure out what is going to work best for me.

So, going to try some new things to see if they work out. I will do this until I lose the weight - I would just rather it be sooner than later. I am not necessarily on a fast track, I just would like to see some sort of results to know that I am doing the right thing. Off to do some more research!

    Sometimes when you hit a halt in your program if you mix up the work out and do something different they say it "tricks" your body and you start to lose weight again. Also eating more small meals a day instead of 3 large will help reboot your metabolism

    It is frustrating when you hit a plateau. Keep at it and don't give up. Regardless of the weight loss, you are getting healthier! And, 3 pounds is 3 pounds! You will bust through this plateau if you stay on course.

    Hey Dena - Great to see your blog. Wow - what a comittment you've made in the past month. I know it doesn't seem like a lot but a 3 pound loss when you've been stuck is a step in the right direction. Still I know it would be great to get more for all your effort. Even if your weight is stuck, your health and stamina have got to be great. So glad you're hanging in there. Your friend Maizey

    I was stuck for 4 months with only 1 pound lost that whole time... I just needed to change it up, I guess, cause I added some jogging and an extra 30 minutes 5 days a week and dropped a few pounds right away! Don't stress too much about it, stress can inhibit your weight loss. If you ever want to walk, give me a call!

    *sigh, yes we Thyroid 'victims' do have it more difficult than most. I had to give up almost all Carbs, till I became 'hypoglycemic'. Now med's still aren't regulated yet & I keep 'bloating up'. A lot of the weight issues are all due to medications not being kept level. Keep hammering at those Drs. I know I am. I had never had so many issues till my 'thyroidectomy- feel free to visit my Sparks Pg. Don't get discouraged please. emoticon
