The Plan

Sunday, June 14, 2009

If I've learned one thing, it's that if I'm not working out I'm exhausted all the time. I tend to eat crap and continuously crave dessert. I feel blah and bloated. When I am working out, I instantly feel better about myself. I crave fresh food. I'm less hungry. I'm less susceptible to eating because of a particular feeling. And about 2 weeks into a routine, I have boundless energy.

I also have learned that if I don't have a specific plan and schedule for working out, it's about 83% likely NOT to happen. When I go into a week saying, "I'll do cardio 3 times this week", before I know it, it's Saturday and I still need 3 weeks out in 2 days.

I've been half-heartedly working out over the last month. 1-2 workouts a week, nothing earth shattering. It's time to get myself back into a real routine, and that will be my main focus this week.

Here's the Plan for easing back into fitness:

* 7am: 20-25 minute walk with dogs
* 6:45pm: Zumba class at the gym

* 7am: 20-25 minute walk with the dogs

* 7am: 20-25 minute walk with the dogs
* 6pm: 30 minutes Elliptical
45 minutes Arms

* 7am 20-25 minute walk with the dogs

* 6pm: 45 minutes Legs
* 7pm: 20-25 minute walk with the dogs

* 9am: 20-25 minute walk with the dogs

* 10am: 20-25 minute walk with the dogs
