It Ain't Easy

Thursday, October 08, 2009

Making decisions is not always easy but it has to be done. I sometimes wish I had an I don't care attitude but that is not the way I am built. I have a tendency to think about the outcomes of most decisions I make. I try to see the other person's point of view while still maintaining a sense of fairness. I am sitting here with a tension headache based on a decision I just made. People who know me well know that I always strive to simplify and keep it movin'. Sometimes the strategy works sometimes it does not but this does not deter me from my main objective. I am not usually one to blog or share how I feel unless it affects me deeply. I am keeping with positive change and trying a new strategy to release some unnecessary tension. I'm going with the flow and letting it go. I think I will put a little yoga on my activity menu. The tension appears to be lifting so I am going to keep moving in the direction. I am relaxing my shoulders, I am taking deep cleansing breaths, I am tensing and releasing, I am rolling my head from side to side, I am getting there. I am confident in the decision I made and I am letting it gooo....softly into the air.

emoticon emoticon emoticon You are the best. As a military officer in the Army, I had to make decisions for the benefit of the entire platoon (or company) that sometimes went against the grain of some of my soldiers. It always created additional stress and I was constantly reminded that "you can't please everyone" and to always "choose your battles wisely"! Hang in there, relax this weekend and get ready to battle Monday. emoticon emoticon

Yoga is always calming & you have to concentrate on the movements that you can get lost in moments of calm. So do that & enjoy!

    Been there!

I used to think talking about the situation made it easier for me. Unfortunately it kept adding fuel to the fire each time I brought it up to someone. So, I made myself a new goal not to vent.

If I have a complaint I try to do something about it or let it go. Complaining about it does nothing but make me feel worse.

However, decisions are different. When I'm finding something difficult to decide upon I always run it by someone else first. This way I know I have the support of my superiors or family before I go ahead and make that decision. sometimes they give me a totally different outlook on the situation that involves a way better outcome than I had imagined.
