What are you doing to avoid those "CRAVINGS?"

Monday, October 19, 2009

I'm sitting here and I know downstairs on the counter is a king size bag of M&M's. My legs are telling me to go and get it because I have burned more than enough calories throughout the day. My head is saying something else......"You want to resist that bag."

What should I do? First, let's think of what I could do in order to avoid that bag. I know the biggest thing is don't buy candy if I can't control my temptations. Second, get a bottle of water and stop thinking about it or Third, take the dang candy and suck it up for another rainy day.

What did I do? I took the bottle of water but it didn't ease my mind knowing where that bag is. Second, I had to go downstairs to the kitchen to get my menu for dinner so that I could post on this website and in my mind I had made the decision to get the bag and chalk it up.

Well, I didn't get the bag. I walked right past it and came back upstairs to go to bed. Another night my resistance WON. emoticon emoticon

Great job on keeping away from the M&Ms! It is hard to do, but I found out that if I eat protein, and some fruit, and stay away from the processed foods and eat food the way the good Lord made them, I am not as hungry. Granted I will want something sweet every now & then, so I allow myself that treat. Then I get right back on track. That helps me. I do the South Beach Diet, and have read Dr. Oz's, "YOU: On A Diet" which was a God send to me in understanding how the body works. Dr. Oz says, "Work smarter at losing weight, not harder." He says that your body is programmed to eat to live, so we need to eat to live. Not live to eat. Well, I really like your blog, and I love your motivation on your main page. Keep up the good work and have a great week! You can do it!!!! emoticon
