1st Blog and stuck on bed rest

emoticon This is my first blog. Right now I'm just trying to watch my portions levels to smaller meals. Since I can't exercise at the moment, since I'm stuck on bed rest emoticon. I been on bed rest now for a whole week. Trust me I'm getting bored and wish I could do something or some sort of exercise.

    Oh dear hope you are feeling better soon. If you can do small exercises like lifting legs up and down or maybe some light weights.

    Are you allowed to twist at the waist? If so get a couple of books of equal size and do twists with one in each hand.

    I am not certain what your situation is but you can always do leg exercises such as straight leg raises or leg twists or upper body exercises in bed with a little ingenuity. Add some weight by lifting a can a soup in each hand or by putting ankle weight around the ankles. Just because you can't get out and walk does not mean that you can't exercise.Legs and arms can always be exercised when in a prone position or from sitting on the side of the bed. Think of ways that you can use your muscles while still in bed to get a little exercise in... pretend to ride a bicycle, bring your knees up to your chest, do crunches, do leg overs do leg scissors... etc. The possibilities are endless if you think about it.

    Congratulations on your first blog. Keep up the good work. The more you put into you program (blogging, huddling, tracking food and exercise minutes, posting on your team pages, earning spark points) the more you will get out of your program- besides weight loss, you will get emotional support, friends who understand exactly what you are going through, accountability, focus, dependability...and the list goes on...
