As most of you know, over the past year I have undergone a complete mind and body transformation. I've lost 52 pounds and I've adapted a healthier lifestyle for myself and my family. To keep myself going I like to look for new challenges and this is the latest one.
I've signed up a fundraising event in support of breast health called Bust a Move. My goal is to raise $1000 by Jan 30th! So far I'm at $285. That is why I’m asking for your help. Please consider giving me a donation of $10 (or whatever you can, every dollar helps!) to help me reach my fundraising goal. Just go to my page by clicking on this link, and pledge online.
In recognition of your pledge, I will be completing six, one-hour exercise classes in a row! That’s right, SIX HOURS, that's longer than a marathon! On Saturday, January 30th, I will be joining up to 1,000 other people at the Halifax Metro Centre to participant in the inaugural Bust a Move For Breast Health, featuring a choreographed exercise program led by certified instructors, set to heart-thumping music and hosted by special guests including Richard Simmons (that should be a riot!).
If ambitious fundraising goals and a workout of this magnitude isn’t enough to make Bust a Move a ground-breaking event, we’ll also be setting two world records, which will be certified on the spot by a Guinness judge!
The money I raise will contribute to the purchase of new digital mammography equipment and to support the QEII and IWK Foundations in their effort to ensure all women in Nova Scotia have access to world leading breast health services.
This cause is important to me because 700 women in Nova Scotia are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, and every second day one of them dies.
Bust a Move is guaranteed to challenge my body and uplift my spirit. It is sure to be a memorable event, but even more remarkable is the great feeling I am getting from doing something to support women in my province and help ensure they have access to world-class breast health services.
I couldn’t be doing this without you, so thank you so much for your support!
I'll keep you posted, Celine
