Thursday Morning...

You got me...?

I was more focused over the last week than the whole month of December and yet I gained 5lbs. since last week's weigh-in. It is what it is...maybe I need to keep my eye less on the scale and find more balance and appreciation for the big picture.

I think I just expected to drop because I had a big loss last week, no worries - I'm on track and I'm absolutely headed in the right direction. Had some good workouts so far this week and addressing my recent glucose spike -was at 152 this morning, so still a little high....but coming down.

I have to keep reminding myself not to compare myself to anyone else or their progress...stick to my plan consistently and let the results shake out.

So I had to change my lost picture from 70 back to 60 as I'm now at 69 pounds lost since starting with Sparkpeople on 9/18 and 116 pounds lost since last year Jan.

    I hit plateau after plateau and I just know I have to hang in there. Next week you may see an even bigger loss than you did the week before. Drink more water and move more. Our bodies are funny things and sometimes they revolt against what we are trying to do.

    You have a wonderful attitude and I am sure the loss will start happening again for you. Just hang in there.

    the only thing that I can truly come up with is that maybe last week's number was not "true" I weighed myself twice that morning but maybe it was just a weird number....and that if I was eating less this week "trying to lose" that maybe that affected my metabolism. I'm hoping it's what you are suggesting about my body adjusting...I'll see how today goes and think about checking my weight again tomorrow...the change in my eating habits felt "better" this past week - but maybe I'm missing something...seems like this is an experiment week to week.

    I know ou want the scale to keep dropping each week but it won't happen...at a point your body needs to reacclimate itself...you do realize that there really is no way to gain 5 pounds unless you altered your eating pattern....maybe water retention? any extra soduim intake?

    I don't normally recommend this but stick to your guns today and maybe do a spot check with the scale tomorrow...?
