Sunday Morning...

Got everything tracked, glucose was 117 this morning...diggin' that!

Yesterday was a busy work day, hopefully Cindy and I going to try and hook up the Wii Fit and play around with that a little this afternoon. Money is tight, but I have a job. I still weigh a lot, but I'm heading in the direction.

Re-framing my thinking has been a pretty big part of each of my days'

Saw some people on the new last night talking about the 80/20 plan...

Eat healthy, good food with your plan 80% of time and 20% percent of the time you eat what you want...within reason. Craving foods they were calling it...with the idea that you even make healthier choices with those 20% foods too. The whole premise being that you have feel like you live in this world and the data shows that by noy giving yourself a " break" once a week or whatever...that it turns out to be a big set up for binge eating and abandoning the plan completely.

I had never that line of thinking called the "80/20 plan" but that's about what I do...interesting to me. Any thoughts?

    the 80/20 would sabotage my progress. Maybe for me a 98/2 would be doable!

    This is an interesting concept but it is not tempting to me 'cause I know myself too well! I would be looking forward to that 20% of the time. I definitely have had a challenging relationship with food. I guess I'm copying Janey's thoughts that it is safer for me to build in or around times when I enjoy a food or drink that isn't on my daily menu.

    I'm speaking only for myself. Basically, I believe that everyone needs to find a plan that works for themselves. If this is a go for you, may it work to your benefit and motivation. Good luck!

    Not so much for me Ryan...I do eat what I want but within my framework of my calorie range....Do I go over that range at times? Sure but then get back at it...My goal has been and will continue to be a sustainable healthy lifestyle....That being said there are some things that I will never eat again...One of those fried onion blossoms that have like 2300 cals...Double Whopper with Cheese...I could go on...but I can make these type of things at home using a low cal receipe...hope this helps...kind of rambling...

    Interestingly enough....I just commented on a sparkfriend's feed about the 80/20. I really didn't know it was a plan, but more of goal to strive for. I guess it is kind of how I live also. I know the weight comes off slower this way, but I also feel like it is something I can commit to lifelong. Can we really eat perfectly and workout like a maniac EVERY DAY forever? Nah, life gets in the way. I think if we strive for doing the best we can everyday, it falls into place. Have a great day!
