Thank You.....

Tuesday, January 19, 2010

Thank you to all who prayed for me and my family. I really appreciate all the kind words of hope and encouragement. This tragedy will not be soon forgotten but I have done all I can. I will continue to pray for Haiti and it's people and I will be thankful for all the things that I routinely take for granted, but I have to try and live some normal life, but I am living. God always has a mater plan. I am the first generation born in the U.S. so I have spent the past week trying to figure out why my family migrated to the U.S. I know it was for a better life, but looking at the images in the media; I see myself. If God saw it fit for my family to make it to the U.S. and thrive and succeed as my family did and continues to do I can only come to one conclusion: I am hear on this earth right now to make a difference. I need to quiet my mind and listen to what God has in store for me. My living will not be in vain. I will spend more time with my family; I will hug my children tighter. The bitterness that I have felt toward people who have hurt me: that must end. i need to have peace in my heart. I need to be an example; I will be an example.

A beautiful writing, and how wonderful to let this be a turning point in your life. After reading your blogs and Diana's this past week, I called a Haitian woman who'd been a client a few years ago. I kept thinking of her and wondering how she and her family in Haiti were doing. She said she was very glad to hear from me. Her 8 year-old cousin was killed, and his mother is inconsolable. Her husband's cousin is still missing and her story has been featured on CNN. She told me she herself has a 3-week old baby. I live in Brooklyn about half the time, and there are many Haitian people here. My heart goes out to you and all the others suffering over Haiti's suffering.

It takes these natural disasters to realize what is really important.

My dear daughter, I've had a cold for a few days and didn't notice your posts about Haiti. My heart is with you and your family and I will keep all of you in my prayers. You are right to keep your faith in God. His arms are stronger than any others we could cling to. You have my very best wishes for the best outcome possible. Faith is the evidence of things not seen.
