The dinner theatre was a great experience. I had envisioned a meal that would stuff me until it hurt to move. Not so. We had a plain salad, baked chicken breast with rice, corn, and a pudding desert. We saw Steel Magnolias. It was a good production, but not exactly what I expected. It seems like the actresses were playing the movie characters. I swain, LaNell sounded EXACTLY like the one in the movie. The lady who played Ouiser sure had her pegged. They were all good, but they were very true to the movie, and that is not what I expected. Nothing wrong with it. Just not what I expected. We certainly enjoyed it, and we plan to go back for Cinderella in May.
Best of all, this was a good bonding day for me and my oldest. Sometimes our relationship is a bit strained, and I am glad that we spent an entire day and most of the night together with nothing but laughter and happiness. It is fitting that we saw this particular production because it takes Mother and Daughter a long time to get to a happy place in the play, too.
