Trying to do my BEST!!!

Friday, February 26, 2010

I'm sure some of you will be surprise to see I finally write a blog. I don't know if I don't do blogs because I am scared to write, because Englis is a foreign language for me and I'm scared that I cannot express my ideas in the best way, but I'll try.
As some of you know I live in Guatemala, and my life stile is sometimes a little different than yours, of course because of the different cultures, but I'm doing my best to fit in Spark.
I'm so happy I found Spark People, but I'm happier that I found BLC-11, because it changed my life stile, now I am a healthier person and more active.
I think that if I were stick to the plan, I would be thinner now, but you know I LOVE FOOD haha the good thing is that I'm moving thanks to you.
I have learned so many things during this months with all of you and I wish I can continue meeting nice people here and achieving our goals together.
I don’t remember when exactly but I met so many runners here and I get motivated to run, so I’ve decided to enroll in Avon’s Woman’s Day Race, I’ve been training and yesterday for the first time I finish my 5 km in 45 min, for some of you it must be so slow, but for me it is a big achievement.
Today I received my t-shirt and the instructions for the race, it will be next Sunday, and I’m so excited about that race.
I told my hubby that I’m sure I wont win the race, but my goal is to finish it in no more than 45 minutes. Some people says that I should wish to win but finishing it will be a victory for me. Maybe someday I’ll compete to win the first place. This time I must take it easy.
My hubby laughs at me because I told him “If you see me walking, please don’t ask me to leave the race, tell me go ahead honey, you train for this very hard, YOU CAN DO IT”
Everyday I try to do my best and with your support I’m sure I’ll reach all my goals!!!!

Johanna~ Yeah for signing up for your 1st race that is so awesome. Also keep in mind that a blog is for you, so even though we like to read it you are more then welcome to write it in your native language. No I wouldn't be able to read it but you would be able to express yourself in what ever words describe how you are thinking and feeling. I am sure there is someone on SP that would be able to read it..lol

Johanna - I am so happy to be getting to know you during BLC12. I also love food and am learning how to make choices that will serve me the best. I always feel like I've done well if I can plan my day with a little splurge in it!!

Congrat's on registering for your first race! I did mine just 3 years ago in May and I still remember it like it was yesterday. Have a great time and for this first one - don't worry about anything but running it, experiencing every minute of it and finishing it. However you finish you will do GREAT!

Can't wait to read all about your race in next weeks blog!!

I LOVE this blog! I'm so happy that you found BLC too! And I am so proud of you for registering for that race! I KNOW you can do it.

We have the food thing in common (ha ha). I told my friend that the exercise part is, well, I don't want to say easy, but I enjoy exercising, so I don't mind it. But I LOVE food! And not necessarily the good for you kind. But we are growing (or shrinking, ha ha) and learning and doing better every day.

I leave you with a final thought about running a race:
Dead last is better than did not finish, which greatly trumps did not start.
