Saturday Morning...

Sparkin' it early on a chilly Saturday Morning!

My glucose came in @117

I'm actually pretty sore this morning...yesterday's interval training had multiple sets of squats and power sets back to back with both legs and arms. It's cool, a good sore...but it dawns on my as I'm hobbling around this morning, when I do squats I'm really moving alot of weight, my weight...pretty much like power lifting sets of 673 pounds up and down, up and down...no wonder your legs are aching a bit....I'm a pretty sharp guy, but sometimes a little slow with common sense stuff.

When I was a kid, my mom and sisters still tease me in good fun about this, I thought that the hot water in the shower was connected to the thermostat in our living room. Everyday I'd see my mom and/or one of my sisters turn up the heat on the wall and then they'd go take a shower...so I just made that connection and I think until I was in my late teens maybe even my early 20's I thought that the higher you turn up the heat in your house the longer & hotter your shower will be....probably not so funny, but it makes me smile to think about the laughs we've had over the years about this....and there are many more examples of my "pretzel logic"

Today is Legs day for strength training...right now I'm not feeling so fired up for it, but the morning will unfold and I'll bang it out. I've got some work to do this morning, my wife is going to make a big batch of healthy chili ( we've been trying to make a big pot of some kind of soup every weekend...it just seems to make lunches headed into the work week a little easier...prepping it ahead) and then we might try to watch a movie together this afternoon, some thing called "the September Issue" about the editor of Vogue fashion magazine...not my pick, but I love her and admitted, sometimes I actually enjoy the Lifetime movies she picks...not so much, but sometimes. Overall, I'd like to spend some time this weekend just taking it easy...

News crew is scheduled to come back out next tuesday to get some more footage of me working out and of my exercise routines...for another eventual follow-up segment...that whole deal has added a little extra stress to our lives...it's totally cool and a good thing but a little crazy making nonetheless, so I scheduled an appt. for my wife to get a mani/pedi at her salon during that time so she can do something nice for herself and relax a bit.

I'm really into corals, reef aquariums...and if anyone in the Madison area is interested, there is free live coral swap today Sat. 2/27(just like it sounds...people trading and selling coral clippings) at the Middleton Fire Dept. on University Avenue from like 11am until sometime late afternoon...

Ok cool...I hope everybody has a Smooth Saturday! Ryan

I love the way to you tell as it is. Your legs are score - not really into doing more leg exercises but knowing that you will. It makes it all a little more personal to me. Thank you for being you

I remember my hubby declining to watch The Notebook, but agreeing to read the paper next to me. While I watched I kept catching him peer over his sports page and shortly he was sniffling along with me holding my hand.

Psssttt... I knew he really wanted to watch it because he's a mush just like me. Don't tell him I said that.

I love coming here every day and seeing you move forward in this journey! It's really, really great to see! Your wife's support is truly a blessing. She is a gem and it is a beautiful thing that you treat her well.

What a nice surprise this morning to get a nice, long, update about YOU. I can totally understand the upside to having the attention of the media in your area but how that also adds stress to your life. The acknowledgment of your hard work is nice, but the rest can be a lot for those of us who struggle with our success. Hope you will enjoy your weekend with the wife!

Interesting bit about the coral swap...I have never heard of anything like that before, and it is funny, but I just found a peice of coral that my Uncle gave my Grandma as a souvineer from his honeymoon trip 50 years ago. I guess its "antique" coral now!! And ps, I like the term "pretzel logic", I have that too!
