Shopping in Jtown is Dangerous!

Monday, March 15, 2010

I don't know HOW people live in Jonesboro. It is too crowded! I had to drive today, and I made the mistake of going to Kroger when I got off at 4:00. About 6 weeks ago, a friend picked up a big box of tilapia from Equador. and I wanted some more. It was not too bad getting to Kroger, but it was no pleasure trip. They had 3 different types of tilapia, but it was all from China. I tried to look around the store a bit, but all of the sudden there was people everywhere.

I left Kroger and went out to Country Mart. No luck there either.

I might note that no one in either store asked if they could help me. The only friendly person I spoke to was at the Kroger cash register, and she was a doll.

After dodging shopping carts in the stores, I had to dodge cars getting out of town, and the traffic is VERY very VERY bad down on the South end of town. I was a nervous wreck by the time I got home, and I came home empty handed to boot.

Next time I'll just stop by a ditch on the way home and see if I can catch supper!

Sorry bout your day. It is frustrating to go somewhere with a purpose and not finding it. Then having to deal with crowds and traffic. I can only take so much shopping at wal mart then I say to my wife it's time. She knows that means the walls and people are closing in on me.

We have lived in Jonesboro for 38 years and you are right, it is congested now! It isn't even the same place that I remember, it has definitely grown up! I have checked tilapia at Bill's, Kroger and WalMart and it's all from China.
