I just saw this "video," and I have a few questions regarding ab exercises.

I already know, thanks to SP, that abs don't show up unless you burn your stomach fat, because they're a small group of muscles. But, according to this video, direct ab exercises before you burn stomach fat actually make your stomach look BIGGER.

I want to know if this is true, because, before seeing this video, for a couple of weeks I've been wondering why all the exercise I've been doing seems to have no effect whatsoever, moreover, my stomach actually bulges out more. It feels stronger, definitely, and tighter, but it still looks ugly under my t-shirts: I hate the way my stomach looks at present.

Secondly, I've read articles that indicate that oblique exercises can actually make love handles LARGER. How true is this claim?

Should I stick to cardio and avoid ab exercises until I lose my belly fat? Am I making my stomach bigger by doing ab exercises at present?

I also hope I start losing some weight soon...I don't know, not losing any weight at all despite all my efforts has been pretty darn frustrating.

At the same time though, exercise gives me a HUGE high. I think I'm addicted to working out! But, I have a question: is too much exercise bad for you?

I was going to weigh myself today after eating 1200 calories for the first time yesterday, but decided to wait some time, since sparkpeople recommends weighing in once a week. Maybe not a week, but I think I can wait a few days.

I haven't eaten as many calories today...I should try to be more consistent, right?

    If you push your body too hard on too little fuel for too long, too much exercise is extremely bad for you ...

    But CONGRATULATIONS for taking the huge step of eating a little more. Perhaps you could throw away the scale for awhile, and only measure yourself with a tape measure? Perhaps for a month?

    There is no reason you have to do abs every day. I like to do workouts that hit the abs as part of something else, like a kickboxing dvd or full body strength training.

    You sound like you are out of breath. Running while out is not effective. Take a deep breath and enjoy ride. You may find that once you focus on the ride and not the destination its not so bad or scary and with commitment success does come.
