Thursday Morning...

Good Morning!

My glucose came in @112 this morning

Getting close to the end of my Sprint week, and I'm feeling good but starting to feel kinda wiped out...one more day until my weigh-in and hopefully all of my hard work and mindful efforts will bring the elusive 100+ pounds lost for me since starting in Sept. 2009

So it's been a great week, extremely focused and determined and have really enjoyed this pace...and without adding any voodoo, I'm feeling pretty confident about weighing-in tomorrow!

Yesterday was technically a rest day...so not too much...but I did my 50 sit-ups/crunches and then I did an extra set of laps for cardio 20 minutes after dinner last night.

Annette turned us onto these really great flatbreads as an alternative to bread and a good source of protein with flaxseed in them too. So Cindy used them for me last night and made a really delicious tomato/basil bruschetta to go w/my blackened salmon + aspargus last night for dinner. As I was eating dinner, I was just shocked at not only how good everything tasted but that everything was absolutely healthy.

*The flat breads were called "Flatouts" flatbreads...100 calories per, 17 carbs, and 9 proteins...in case you wanted to find another option in your grocery story...I think they were like $4 or 5 bucks for a pack of ten or so.

Ok cool, heading into the end of March...making a real rally with my nutrition & fitness and as ever...trying to hammer it hard with work and close the month strong with sales!

    Yum to the salmon and flatouts...the latter are a regular staple for me...love to toast 'em till they're brittle and break 'em up to scoop up salsa! Or even just eat plain...nice CRUNCH! And great for fiber! :-)

    I buy Arnolds Sandwich rounds which are about 100 cals too..I will have to check these out...thanks for the suggestion...

    Glad to see you're embracing all kinds of new foods that are better for you! I thought I'd pass along something even healthier. Those flatouts, while lower in calories, still are loaded with added oils, sugar, & preservatives. I'd recommend giving Sprouted Grain Breads a try. They're made just from grains, water, yeast & salt - just what bread is supposed to be. Sprouting the grains makes the bread more nutritious. It is rich in protein, vitamins, minerals and natural fiber with no added fat. Its a little different from regular, processed breads in that it is nice & heavy & hearty. Kind of has a nutty flavor & is great toasted.

    You can find the Ezekiel brand at Whole Foods, Woodmans, & some other grocery stores around Madison. They'll be in the FREEZER section, often with the gluten free foods. A whole loaf is under $5.

    Flatouts make a great low cal pizza as well. We make a lot of pizzas on them from time to time. I like them as a wrap with salmon and cucumbers too. Keep up the good work.
