Am I getting the "Spark"

I have activly been here since last week and been doing well with tracking every single thing I put in my mouth. I have been tracking my fitness but not correctly because I don't think I am using that part of the site right. I hear people talk abouit phases and steps and other things that relate to this site and I am unsure if I am using the site to it's full potential. Anyone suggest where I should start here on spark to make sure I am doing all of this the best I can?
