Are you kidding me?

As best as I can tell, I ate over 1810 calories last night at dinner!!!! (This is where we pause for the shock factor!!) I gave in to the "convenience" of ordering pizza. I had 2 slices of pan pizza, a few cheese breadsticks with ranch, and a slice of chocolate pie.

The pie alone was freaking 410 calories and 29 grams of fat!! I didn't realize how many calories/fat grams until I dug through the garbage this morning (come on...admit it...you've done it, too) to record it.

If only I would have estimated the calorie count, etc. BEFORE I ate. But, the good news is I met one of my April goals. No matter what I eat, I have resolved to still record it every day.

Here's the other good news side of this episode...as I was eating the pizza/breadsticks....I was still very aware of my portion sizes. I shudder to think about it, but I still ate about half of what I normally would have if I weren't Sparking. So...that's a huge eye opener as well.

So, today I'll start walking off some of those calories!!

Ruthanne OMG I have totally been there in the last few weeks! Logging my calories and saying.."it has how many calories????? No way!" but the good thing is recognizing the issue and realizing that making those choices is what got us here.....and making better choices will get us outta here! LOL

Keep the positive attitude! I love it.....keep working at it..hopefully one day we will all be masters of this whole food thing!

Wow it does add up quickly. I always wonder why the calories are at the level that they are. I am at 1800 to 2100 a day so it is really scary to hit that in one meal. Don't feel guilty it takes a day for those calories to catch up to you so if you exercise today those calories may not be as scary. Good luck and Happy Easter.

Really scary! I had a muffin once and found out after wards that it was 1000 calories! that left me with 250 cal for the rest of the day! way to go for recording it though!

I know, scary isn't it? I've had a very similar experience and know the feeling of that shock. But it has made me hyper aware fo what I am eating when I am out or I haven't cooked it myself, so it was a blessing in disguise.
Just jump right back on the plan and you will be fine.

It's a great education to find out what we're actually eating. Good for you for recording it all and for doing some walking today! (And for watching your portions!)
