America the Fat and Beautiful

Sunday, November 12, 2006

I have a rant boiling, I feel it. Underneath my chubby exterior is a cranky fed up food and connivence addict. I do not know if this is just my town or what. I live in a big city north of Dallas with a small town mentality. I think I am the only one to notice the weekend pop-up restaurants . I mean it is bad. The only new businesses we get are restaurants. At least we are making for a healthy job markets for servers, but damn.

If they are gonna keep us fat then they need to freaking match each restaurant with a plus clothing store, so at least we can wrap something around our growing asses.. . Lets eat out 3 times a week and shop at Forever 21, this is a paradox to me.

Why not bring culture? Maybe something to do on the weekends other than drink, or go eat and then sit on your expanding ass at a movie. Don't get me wrong I blame no one for being over weight other than myself. I eat it I deserve what comes. I am aware of what I am doing when I am doing it. However, its having the option to do so every half a block that pisses me off. Even healthy choices are not so healthy. Only 600 calories for this slathered chicken breast....Yum Yum eat up and remember here is your side of fat for dipping. Enjoy the deep friend macaroni, its on a special 3 course combo with death by chocolate.

I just do not get how a society can plaster skinny unattainable figures everywhere and give you a burger for a 1.00 at the same time. We are setting up our culture to feel bad about themselves. We are a generation of excess, and contradiction. Here, I know, we will have this teen starve herself, pose for our pictures then on top of that airbrush her so that you have no choice but to feel bad about yourself. Meanwhile we will shovel proportions that can feed your whole family your way. A plate? What is that? You dinner will come on a platter lady. As a matter of fact we are now in the process of adding kickstands to the platters and seats. We want no food falling over, and we feel the need to prop you up so you can continue to eat. Heh next we will be riding wheelchairs to be seated because walking is over rated and bad on our ankles.

I dunno I guess this anger partly seems for my son who is being sucked into the McDonalds kids meal craze. Ok here is what we will do for the kids, they are not yet addicted to fast food so what we will do along with the toy marketers is package their fav characters and toys with their food. I have control of what he eats and at home we do good, but I feel like I am denying him what all kids get if I down breakdown now and again.

I just want my family to be healthy, which is attainable but a struggle as well.

You'll get in super shape fast...And there is such a huge derby network, you can get help from almost anyone in any league! I would start contacting as many people as possible, jump on yahoogroups, livejournal groups, viaderby message board...everything!
