I have to vent....

Really... what's up with these fitness magazines? i don't subscribe to them but from time to time I will buy one to try to incorporate them into my workouts. Well I brought one today and I couldn't shake the uneasy feeling in my stomach about all the advertisements. Grant it that all magazines are full of them and that's how the magazines get their sponsorship but come on?! Every other page is an ad for some "thermogensis" fat burner, hydroxycut, stacker, etc... This is crazy. I have been working hard at trying to make my body the most healthy and i think i've done well but looking at these ads is disturbing especially if they're in between an article about eating clean. To each his own... I don't know if they work or not but I could see how these companies make billions off people. And as my sp friend mentioned to me why is Jillian Michaels selling them? What is going on? Why can't health and fitness magazines be sponsored by organic farmers and the american diabetic association, food and drug administration and every one else who keeps telling us to eat healthy and exercise? I hate getting mixed messages. Okay... i feel a little better now. emoticon

Those products like hydroxycut and lipozene DON'T work. Those two products specifically have had several names over several years to try and cover up their bad names. They trick people who want the easy way out into thinking they can take a magical pill to burn fat. Truth is, you can't. If there was one, everyone would have it!

Hydroxycut and Lipozene are also linked to many severe heart, and liver problems. Many people have gotten ill from those types of things! Not only that, but hydroxycut contains a drug variant to speed! There are people who ended up in the hospital because they had a hear heart attack from taking it!

All of those supplements are bad news. I'm still surprised that they're allowed to be sold and even more surprised that magazines promote such products! I guess it all boils down to money, and if you have it, you can do whatever you want :(.

...because the pharmaceutical companies have the cash and the organic farmers don't, hence the all the ads.

Haha. Good point but like everything else... it is all about the money. But good work, keep it up and don't get discouraged by stupid adverts. Sounds like you are doing the right thing by ignoring them anyways.
