Peachtree Roadrace Training Update

Well, bumped up the mileage again this week - ran 5 miles yesterday, with another quarter of a mile walking cool down at the end.
But I don't think I could have run another 1.2 miles though - I was pretty tired at the end of the run. Maybe could have made it another half mile...but no way I could have made it 10K without walking.
Only 6 weeks left to the Peachtree though...and once again, there will be the heat factor to consider. And my Achilles are still really bothering me too.
Getting a little nervous.
I wish I could lose some more weight - that would really help I bet as I still have about 30 - 35 lbs to lose. But my weight loss has really slowed in recent weeks. Not exactly sure why...but last month I lost only 5 lbs...and this is while running 18 - 20 miles a week plus doing some other cardio and strength work (riding spinning bike, Power 90, Slim in 6, etc).
Oh well..I'll keep plugging along. Regardless, I'm happy to be able to run 5 miles, considering the fact that on January 1, I was huffing and puffing after running one minute.
